Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 10 1:16 pm)
If you are running on a Windows PC, this probably means you need to increase the size of your swap file. When Windows runs out of physical memory (RAM) it swaps stuff out to a temporary file on the hard drive. If you have the maximum limit set too low then Windows will report that it's out of memory. How you change this setting depends upon which version of Windows you are running. Brian
Poser doesn't really tell the truth when it gives you error messages. Usually that "out of memory" message comes after you've received an error message that says Poser can't locate or load an obj (geometry) file. For some reason that file is not in the proper folder. Sometimes the geometry file was not installed in the proper place. Sometimes it means you got a file that requires a previous product, and you failed to read the instructions. Sometimes it also means the geometry rsr file is corrupt. Now that you know the basics behind this error message, you can figure it out. GO ahead and load the same item, and pay closer attention to all the error messages you get. If you still need help, come back with more specific information. And you might want to spend some time reading the FAQ at the top of this page.
