Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 05 1:41 pm)
It's a utility (Morph-Target Mirror)that can take morphs created for one side of the body, and create a corresponding morph for the other side.
With a little luck and some finesse, you might be able to salvage the good portion of that morph.
MTMirror II can be downloaded at Poser++.
It has certain limitations, like any utility. Check the website for details. And you have the bad portion of the morph to consider, also. I think you'll be able to mirror just the right side of the face so that the new morph will contain only the good information, but I haven't used the utility, so I can't say for sure. That's what I meant by luck. If it works, though, you'll have a new morph that affects the left side of the face only. Then you can use MTMirror to mirror the new morph, and get one that affects the right side. Once you have both morphs, you can use them together to do the entire face, and spawn a new morph target that affects the entire face by itself. That's what I meant by finesse.

Morph Target Mirror II can mirror a morph in various ways, although I have troubles getting to work that well, mostly because an object isn't perfectly symmetric. Here's a little run through: 1. Import your wavefront object, and Save as LWO, then select all polygons, and remove them, 'k' command. (this leaves only the vertices) 2. Export as Wavefront object. This is your base for MTMirror. 3. Make your morph. You may want to undo the polygon deletion, or reload the object, as it's easier to see what you're doing with polygons. 4. Once you have the morph on one side, save your object under a new name, remove the polygons, and export to wavefront object again, under a new name. 5. Run MT MIrror, Use the open Base command, and load your unmorphed object from step 2. MtMirror may complain that the object is not symmetrical, when it asks if you want to use autodetection, say yes. 6. Use the Open MT button and load in the mor you exported in step 4. 7. Depending on which side you made the morph, select the Mirror L->R or Mirror R->L button 8. Save your new Morph under a new name. Note, this doesn't always work perfectly, sometimes the autodetect misplaces some points. Something to try anyway. Regards- LemurtekThis site uses cookies to deliver the best experience.
