Hey friends, I'm working on some Jewish payes for Mike. Most here probably would not know what "payes" are, but they are side-locks Orthodox Jews have. I'll include some links. Right now, the side-lock looks like a little horn, but with a good transparency map, it would look like hair. Hopefully, I'll make it where it can morph into different styles. Here are some pictures of payes, for all to see, so perhaps I can get some tipes. Thanks to Gorak33 for the idea. If you have any good pictures, please post them, or post the link. I believe I will include at least one loose strands, but am open to suggestions. Note the different styles.

I agree on offering a curled version or morph to twist/curl. How about also incorporating a beard or having that as an add on. I am not sure any of the beards around will work with the payes. Also, we have a tallis, a suit and duster, but I have not seen a yamika (sorry on spelling) or the type of hat worn by the Brooklyn orthodox wear ( I think Ashkanasi, again sorry for spelling - English is hard enough for me) Would that be another project? I have an image in mind. I would also need a close fitting/conforming babushka.

Chronogram? Wait, the New Paltz Chronogram? Are you from NP?

Hey friends! Thanks for all the replies! Yes, there IS indeed a curl effect, however, I guess I was thinking I could use the hair map for the spiral effect, but y'all think it would be better to actually spiral the hair? Ok!

actually these are worn in many different ways.i've even seen them worn wraped around the ears.i don't think there's a wrong way to do this.

Valandar, lol, I too am a Gentile - but the Jewish people are fascinating folk. So feel free to comment all you like.

Since getting into klezmer music, I've been more and more interested in yiddish...A really interesting amalgamation of language...
