Subject: Stephanie Michelle Gellar, Take 2

A Recent thread got me all back to work on trying to achieve the penultimate Buffy for Poser. I think I've got it this time. Texture is a work in progress and is for Stephanie. Morph is just a combo of standards so when it's time to distribute should be small and easy :) -WTB

And, of course, the render :) I assure you she looks fine on profile and 2/3's as well. It's 4:30 so I'll post some other shots tomorrow.

William_the_bloody: Remarkable likeness. If you get the hair a little better . . . but you will, I'm sure. Very nice !!

Photopium ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 3:41 AM

I'm still waiting for the Perfect Buffy Hair to be made. Everything that comes out is just slightly wrong for her in some vague way. I've got half a mind to post a pic of her "ideal period" hair and start begging for it to be made. -WTB

The face looks great. Now let's see the body!

Dolphin ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 3:50 AM

Someone called Spike obsessed with the slayer?.. L.. dear me william.. we'd have thought you'd learned your lesson by nowL anyhow.. L.. have to say that's the best model I've seen for a long long time.. I've been attempting my own character creation and it's not an easy job. so 'grats on a job well (not quite) done :D Dolph.

PoisenedLily ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 3:51 AM

Amazing as usual. :)

neurocyber ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 4:08 AM

Awesome! She's great!! :)

jval ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 4:57 AM

I suppose I'd be more impressed if I knew what a Buffy was. I guess I'm out of touch but I think I like it that way. Nice piece of work though. She looks rather plain which is refreshing.

Barbarellany ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 5:42 AM

Wonderful job! You have her eyes exactly. You know she cut her hair last season. The flip hair may do now.

ablc ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 6:51 AM

jval: Buffy is/was a TV serial about vampires hunters... Another serial was made for monney purpose: angel...

jval ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 7:23 AM

Ahhh... thanks Angel. But I'd keep this kind of quiet or before you know it the government will require that all vampire hunters buy a vampire hunting license. On the other hand maybe we should just leave the poor little buggers alone. Supply and distribution is good enough today that they shouldn't be a problem. They could probably just get a pint of blood delivered to their doorstep by the Red Cross. - Jack

hmatienzo ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 10:58 AM

Yup, that's her all the way!

L'ultima fòrza è nella morte.

hmatienzo ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 10:59 AM

Oh, now, WtB... are you going to tackle hunky Angel or Spike one of these days??? Remember, there's ladies here who want to play with hot toys too, LOL!

L'ultima fòrza è nella morte.

Chailynne ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 11:08 AM

To some of us she's still Erica's daughter from All My Children. LOL Anyhow, I think this is the best one I've seen so far. Good job. :o)

Patricia ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 11:12 AM

Oh, rats! Now I'll have to buy Stephanie........!

Axe_Gaijin ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 1:00 PM

Worked a bit more with some scaling and magnets on the nose to get it more gellar like

bikermouse ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 2:18 PM

The hair looks much better. I'd have to look at a still picture of her for the nose.

scifiguy ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 3:04 PM

WOW! Steph works much better than Vicki. Great job WTB!

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 4:50 PM

Well, William, I just gotta say...I've seen a lot of people try to capture celebrity looks into V or S. Some look pretty good but I wonder sometimes if it's because I have been told upfront who it is. I'll tell you right now, post this baby ANYWHERE and anybody who knows Buffy (or SMG) will know without being told EXACTLY who it is. Your persistance has paid off and your intimate (evil grin) knowledge of SMG has obvioiusly been key to the whole success. When I posted that message for the other guy to talk to you about his SMG work, I knew you were the best! (now, since my wife is the Buffy freak in the house...having all the yearbooks, mags, and member of the club...and has been warming up to Spike and her being, kinda, together with him...she prefers Angel to be with her...grin...what I gotta do to get the CR2 file from you? For my wife, of course!) Oh, and one other thingie...maybe I'm crazy, but you ever consider sending some renders to her publicist and explaining what Poser and characters are? They might be flattered and even answer you with an autographed pic ! Just a crazy thought...hehe. Once again, William...GREAT stuff ! PS: I think I'll try to post the pen and ink drawing I found of her someplace.

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 5:04 PM

Here is the drawing I found. As it turns out, it's pencil but it's pretty darn good. I think I found it at Renderotica. I hate that there's no copyright or artist written in the pic and I certainly don't want to violate anyone's property. So, I've done the best I can and anyone interested in the artist because I have posted one of his pics can do a search at Renderotica. He is VERY good. I thought you might appreciate it, WTB. PS: Mods, if I have violated something ethical here, please delete the post.

Here's a good facial detail in reality...

ardvarc37 ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 5:31 PM

If you need a bigger image I can E-mail one to you, as well as other facial details enlarged, just let know. This is the only decent SMG I have. The logo in the lower right corner is the scanner's logo from a scanned image website, not mine. Alex

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 5:33 PM

William has done a great job...I even hate to suggest something...but, maybe, MAYBE his eyes should be a tad, itsy-bitsy closer together...but the photo provided is a tad off straight-on. I'm sure William has hundreds to work from...hehe.

ardvarc37 ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 5:38 PM

Yeah true but his jaws and nose did improve in the second image

As if William doesn't have EVERY pic around...LOL Another pic to show William just about has everything below the neckline correct, too. (not that you can see it here, but in his gallery) Laters!

Marvelous likeness.

Is Stephanie a relative of Sarah Michelle Gellar? (see link)

EricofSD ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 10:31 PM

The nose and lips in the pics are smaller than the model. I learned a few things about graphite/oils. When doing portraits of women always lie. Always make the noses smaller and the eye lashes bigger. Lips can be genuine. You see, if you don't lie, the frying pan will leave a welt on the side of the head no matter how anatomically accurate you think your image is.

Did some work today on a new take of Angel (David Boreanaz) As you can see, "out of the box" (Upper Right) is a little vague still, but gives a nice canvas to do postwork on. The frame is there, but I lack good enough photos to do a Boreanaz texture to go with the morph, and this creates a certain lack. I realize in a dim way that this is why I never persued some of these other characters. A celeb Morph without a decent texture to go with is not all that great and there's only so much you can do. -WTB

bikermouse ( ) posted Tue, 09 July 2002 at 12:37 PM

William_the_bloody: "out of the box" he looks somewhat like that guy that plays the invisable man.
