I am patiently awaiting the arrival of Carrara, in the meantime I've been all over the Metacreations knowledge base and it seems there are a lot of features not implemented yet and several bugs. Is it that bad? Does anyone know when we can expect a patch to be released? Oh, one last item, does anyone have a list of 3rd party developers of Carrara addins?

Hi october, Well, There are "Reported" problems. I personaly havent run into any, yet. Carrara hasnt crashed and I havent found anything, yet, that isnt implemented. You might want to join the Carrara mailing list. http://www.onelist.com Search for Carrara. There is a Reported Bugs list there as well as images. MC posts to this list from time to time. The MAC version seems to have more stability problems than the PC version. MC is suppose to be working on the first of a series of small patches. Should be out soon. Right on! Thanks for all the info. I'm feeling much better about my purchase, now if I can only survive until Thursday, but it seems sooo far away.

Well, I finally recieved my upgrade from RDS 5.5 to Carrara, happy to report that I didn't have to pay full fare! Installed on a G3 350/OS 8.6 at work & played with it for about 15 minutes, seemed to work OK. Installed at home on a G3 233/OS 8.1, and every time I try to "render" the program crashes. Probably some extension conflict that I'll have to hunt down (so fun!). Can't save as Painter riff format but havn't played with it long enough to tell anything else. The window layouts & function are more similar to Infini-D then RDS. I'll reserve judgement 'till I've played with it some more. One thing they should have put on the disk are some of the animated examples from Infini-D. Shows some powerful effects that can be acheived with the particle system like blowing smoke & fireworks that were very well done.
