My son is in the Army too. He is having a great time in Kuwait, but he could have said that just to keep me from worrying. Be safe! Peggy

My army time was some of the best fun I ever had. They let my blow stuff up, fire $65k anti tank rounds, gave me a green suit annnnnd let me live in Monterey CA. What's not to love? And basic was a blast. CS gas will clear up any cold in a snap.

BTW MAT Pose Edit is awesome! I use it creating all my Poser stuff. Thanks for a very useful app.

God Speed. My son enjoyed his time in the army, like Greybro said, they let him blow things up ( yup even the british army does that) , but the downer was he then had to rebuild them. He liked it though. Have fun, come back soon

Phew! Finally some free time. Thank you people very much for your supporting comments. I think I'm going to sleep the whole weekend, I'm so tired. In the army I get up at 06.00, wash my teeth in 30 seconds, take a shower in 2 minutes, eat my meals in 8 minutes and so on. Always in a hurry but still I have to stand still 1/3 of the day. I'm now very familiar with my new best friend, 7.62 RK 62 (upgraded Kalashnikov AK-47) assault rifle. I've been told it's still the best in the the world though it's a year 62 model. Actually all my equipment is from the sixties (except some clothes from the 80s and 90s). I can take my rifle into pieces in 5 seconds and join the pieces in 15 seconds. I just love my gun. Next Tuesday I'll have to march 25 km with all the battle and camp equipment. In total the weight will be about 50 kg. It will be a doomsday. Only 6 weeks left as a recruit. BTW: One of the most important things in the army are clean socks. Sometimes I feel like I could kill for a pair of socks. I'll be back, Ilari

You guys are using an upgraded AK47? Damn... I always wanted to get my fingers on one of those. I only know the jugoslavian versions. By the way: Do you have free choice of equipment or do you have fixed equipment? If you can choose, get yourself at least one pair of "Opti-Fleece"-Socks. Those things transport the sweat away from your feet and keep your feet dry - It will save you a lot of pain and problems on long marches. Good luck... Joerg

Fortunately I can use my own socks. All the other equipment except underwear is the same for all recruits. I change socks about two times a day but that isn't always enough.

Thanks for the tip, socks really are that important here.
