Beautiful! These never co-operate for me, (or those ones with bright blue tails).

I love how you caught the sunlight on their wings... the colors are gorgeous. didja have to use superglue to get them to stay still long enough? or do you just have one of those wonderful zoom lenses? :)

G r e a t shot from wings. If I can ask one bigger favor, can I have big reso versions of these? I could use in my future images. .n

Hey all thanx for the comments! Basically, I saw the "bugger" flyin and skimmin over the lake. Noticed it landed on this branch near the edge of the water. Most insects are VERY SKITTISH...the saying "they have eyes in the back of their head" is true, cause they can see all around with those BIG compound eyes of theirs. I got within 5 feet and the thing bolted right away before I could even take a shot. I figured "oh well" and started to walk away...when it suddenly came back to the same spot!!! COOL, I slowly inched my way back, got a good vantage point and there ya have it! Maybe the heat was a factor!! It hung out for a good minute or so like it was catchin some rays, before it flew off again! @Randy - I used my Olympus C700UZ (digital). While it lacks in megapixels (2.1) I feel the 10x optical zoom kinda balances it out and comes in real handy at times!!! L8r!

Ehem, repeating myself. L8r, could it be possible to get original big reso images? I would really like to use those wings in my future works. Nice please. .n

L8r, I hope you don't mind but I just had to have a go at your excellent dragonfly shot! I left the background exactly like you shot it(which was way cool btw, I love blurry backgrounds) and just pushed the color, contrast and poster edged the insect just to see what I could find... Jack
