Subject: Texture issues, please help!

I just received an email from one of my customers, who had bought the Dracos Titanicus I have in the MP. This customer had also downloaded the free "Lava Dragon" texture in Freestuff. She loaded the DT, no problems. She then used the MAT file for the Lava Dragon texture, it worked. But when she changed the materials back to the original textures, they wouldn't show! Any idea what's happening?

I have had similar problems. I haven't tried many mat poses, so I'm not sure how they are supposed to work, I guess. This is what happened to me. When I applied the mat pose, the body parts that were effected were listed under the Render/Materials/Object list under the figure. So besides having Figure 1 (in the Render/Materials/Objects list) with skin, etc in the Render/Materials/Material list; I also had Hip, Thigh, Shin, etc (in the Render/Materials/Objects list) each with all of the materials (like skin, etc) in the Render/Materials/Material list. Changing texture for the Figure no longer had any effect. I had to change it for each body part that now appeared in the Object list. This isn't really a solution, but it may be what happened to you customer. I hope this helps a little. It's a bit hard to describe. Ericroy

Nope, that's not what happened. Everything worked, and there were no extra materials... it's just that the original texture maps won't do anything after she's loaded the freebie map. I'm thinking it's a memory problem, but I don't know.

Have you tried sending her a MAT pose to put the original textures back how they were? If it works with that then you'll know she was doing something wrong with the material settings. If not, then you'll still have a mystery but at least you can eliminate user error.
