I've only been working with Bryce for about a month, so no fancy effects. I loved the idea for the challenge and had to give it a try. The giant crystals were used as a power source, for communication with distant lands, for raising consciousness, and often, as depicted here, for creating a giant crystal bubble to protect the city from cold or stormy weather.

love the buildings and the metallic textures. try to play a bit with the sky and light (my two cents)

I like the surreal colors, it helps the fantasy end o fthe pic rather well. I do agree with vasquez about the sky. I'd almost like to see some a little haze -- just enough to conceal the horizon, but not that it washes out the image.
