Thank you again Sharen and Mike! That is a really beautiful model, and the texture is just perfect! :-) "Yep, reckon I'll be heading out to the ol' porch, smokin' my baccy and just rockin' my cares away..." (Promptly coughs and falls off chair) "...disgusting habit smoking! Glad I don't do it!" ;-) Dave :-)
Is that what people with AOL really see (Philywebrider's screenshot)????????????????
If it is, it sure explains a lot. I get complaints all the time from AOL users that my site is missing things, new links aren't there, graphics are distorted, the style sheets are laid out correctly, etc.. now I know why--the AOL browser is a P.o.S.! I'm going to ignore all the website feedback I get from AOL users from now on. This was very enlightening. -Adam
Terminusnord "Philly you need to refresh your webcache, that's an old version of the page you're looking at..." Apparently that was the way the page looked a one time, before changes were made. Why I got the old image is another story, one I can't answer. brcause I never had it happen before. It could be the browser, but I wouldn't be to quick to write lay everything at AOL's doorstep. ;o)
Philly.. whether or not that was the way the site once looked is not really the issue; the problem is that your AOL browser was hanging on to that version of Sams3D far too long. This is the problem I encounter with AOL users a lot, they email me about things on certain pages of my site, and I'm sitting here thinking "what the? I removed that item [for sale] from the site over a week ago.. why are these people still seeing it?" I get the impression too that it's not just the AOL browser on the end user machine that is the problem. I think AOL caches a lot of stuff at the ISP server level, using proxy servers. I think they also reduce quality of web graphics dynamically to make them download quicker. This last feature can be disabled (i think) but it's turned ON by default, causing lots of problems. The end result is that I get complaints and suggestions for improvement to my site that are not necessary, they are solely the byproduct of AOL messing with what their users see. -Adam
