Subject: Animation Render Woes

Ran into a animation rendering problem - looking for confirmation and a workaround. Selected render to pict sequence for my animation - after rendering for 5 days - I have my 300 frames of un-useable pict (labeled) frames - that no graphic apps will open or recognize. ( Not Photoshop 5, 5.5, 6 or 7, Graphic Converter, AfterEffects, Media Cleaner or Quicktime Pro in OS9 or OSX - see or open the pict files ) Strange thing is that when I render a single frame - save as pict - it's fine. It's only the render to animation sequence of picts that are bad. ACK !!!! anyone run into this? besides having to render as a animation file is there a work around/solution? Vue 4.0.6 OSX 10.1.5 thanks

Have you updated to Vue 4.1?

yes - and am rendering to a .mov file at this time - ALTHOUGH I would prefer to render to pict sequence... Don't want to waste any more time on seeing if the sequence works.... already behind my schedule

Just tried and got the same problem with Windows ME. Can render one PICT but not an animation. I normally render animations as .bmp or .jpg at 100% quality with no problem. Gilbert

Can't say that I've tried PICT but TGA files are working fine here. Win2000 and Vue 4.1.

aha....so as I thought, looks to be a pict sequence bug ! thanks, Gilbert for the confirmation. Next time (when this anim is done) I'll try another format for the sequence format.
