Subject: How to stop lights from moving

I have a figure and everytime I rotate it, the lights rotate with it...how can I "disconnect" them from each other? Thanks!

That should only happen if you have the lights parented to the figure. Select each light, and change its parent to Universe or none. Are you sure you aren't rotating the camera instead?

thats what it sounds like to me... use the various 'rotate' dials to rotate the figure, not the big camera button.

oh... and make sure you have the entire figure selected, not just a body part

Also, if you want to lock the lights in place so you don't accidently move one, select the light then select "Lock Actor" from the edit menu.
