Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 20 11:41 am)
The only way you'd get it out my hands is by using extreme violence LOL.....its worth 20 bucks easy just for the conforming wizard alone, which to be honest is all i use it for....where it is really handy is when you have no cr2 to hack, for example the mike gloves we just did, just opened them in pwizard and bang 5 minutes later a working conforming cr2 needing only minor adjustements....like i said i haven't used the other wizards but if there half as handy as the conforming it'll be worth it.....Steve
yep dead easy, heres a screen shot.....as you can see it asks you to load the obj and the fgure its for, then you hit load files, if it finds groups that don't match it tells you then lets you tell it where they should match..then you save the cr2, all done :o)..but if you named the groups wrong which is easy i find LOL it helps you fix that..an example of what i mean is when i did the gloves i got some fingers wrong, i had the right index as "rIndex" instead of "rIndex1" so it saw this error and popped it up in the unlinked obj groups box .....then i just selected it and linked it to the correct part, it does the rest for you :o)....Steve
Heh, I would normally say go to the creator for this, but since you are looking for opinions from users I guess this was the best way to go about it. After you gather any and all opinions you can feel free to ask me anything about it before purchasing just to make sure you understand what you would be receiving. I find it is much easier to let someone know upfront rather then have them buy and possibly ask for a refund.
Oh and steve, from the screen shot it looks like you are using a prior version of this. Your downloads should have been re-set in order to get the new version. The new version should say "P-Wizard" up top, not "Poser Wizard". This will be a requirement for upcoming plug-ins as the installation for those have changed to make it a much easier process, no more single installs, just copy the file and run the wizard manager and it installs it for you.
Hiya Kattman! Yeah, there's no point asking the parents whether they think their own baby is cute! They'd be darn strange if they didn't think so. You need to ask other people.... :o] Is there a chance I could see the manual for the product? That's likely to tell me a lot about it. IM me. :] FishNose
No manual per say but I can send you the help files. Because of the nature of this project, the help system is't contained in one file. Since it is a totally modular type of app there is a separate help file for each piece. This allows the expansion of the documentation as each peice is added so it never becomes out of date. I can package up all of the current help files and let you read through them. A few of them even have images so you can see the screen as you read.
Ming, True, even all mt testing plus the tester here at the marketplace there were a few problems left in the first release. It seems some things just wouldn't rear thier ugly heads until it hit the public market. If you recall I had it in the store for only about 12 hours before I pulled it completly and ran damage control here. I believe I satisfied most of those first buyers by either offering refunds or adressing thier issues directly. That was a real mess when it happened and I got slammed pretty hard for the next week and a half but overall I think I got everything worked out.
Ming - Well....that would be an earlier version. I believe we were discussing the current version. Since the problems were fixed and do not exist in the current version....I fail to see the point of your "Beware" warning.
Anyway....I know it can't be done Katt. But it still would be nice. LOL! Keep up the great work Katt! I appreciate ya! ;o)
Reading so many good things about P-Wizard, my ultra simple question is: can I use it to transform a Posette clothing item into a Vicki/Steph clothing item? And vice versa? Can I use it to make clothing from other 3D sources conform to any Poser character I want? If the answer to these questions is yes, I'm on my way to the Marketplace!
Wampyir, This has been a question asked many tmes and the answer is simple. No, it will not change the geometry to match another character. Now you could re-split the clothing item (remeber vicky has buttocks and posette does not), then use The Tailor to form fit the clothing I believe, essentially changing the mesh so that it takes on the new body shape. After the mesh is changed then you can take that new OBJ file and push it through the conforming wizard to get all the joint parameters set up. Not as straight forward, but it is a much easier way then changing the mesh by hand and than trying to set all the joint parameters. The order of this may be reveresed as I haven't actually tried this yet. You may have to split the mesh into the proper body parts then conform it with the P-Wizard then fit it using The Tailor.
Now as for making clothing items from other sources fit and conform to the character, keep in mind that fitting is an issue with the mesh, conforming is an issue with the joint parameters. If the OBJ fits the character or can be changed to fit, then it can be made into a conforming item using P-Wizard.

Hiya folks! a question - Anyone using P Wizard (Marketplace)? Looks like it could be useful, for conforming figures and for creating MAT files etc etc. Anyone tried it? What's the verdict? Is it worth 20 bucks? :] FishNose
