Subject: Question about UVmapper

triceratops2001 ( ) posted Mon, 15 July 2002 at 2:34 AM ยท edited Thu, 13 February 2025 at 7:46 AM

When I load the model it shows all the materials. How can I hide some materials and save a template that only has the material I want? Thx!

Select the material you want. Hit '[' to hide it. Hit return. Hit '' to toggle the visible mesh with the hidden. Regards- Lemurtek

hit ctrl+A to select everything Hit [ to hide it all Press ctrl+M to select the one you want to see Press ] to unhide just that there ya go if your saving a template that only has a few materials on it, you can also enlarge those materials in uvmapper and then resave the obj before you make the template so that those materials are higher resolution. Of course, you probably couldnt redistribute your textures then. It depends on what yur doin with it.

naaaaaaaah.... okay, this is how i do it. hit ctrl-m to select by material. select your material(s) of course. then press the ' key to hide everything BUT that. now hit ctrl-t to save the template, and check that box that says something along the lines of don't bother with the hidden stuff.

heyas; same thing. when you hit ctrl-m you can ctrl-click and shift-click to select more than one thing at a time.

I'm assuming this only works on the PC version? 'Cause I just tried it and nothing at all happens when I hit "[" or "". Or lots of other keys, either.

eh?? [ and are old keys, they should be functioning in the mac version by now. did you look at the help, hiram, and see the list of hotkeys? and when's the last time you downloaded an updated uvmapper? :)
