I tried to animate a horse but I can't find the controls to do that. Anybody know how to do that? Poser 4 CAN do that can it ??!!

heya; you need to add frames to your poser scene to make an animation. then, in the first frame, put the horse into the first position, and every 3-5 frames or so, put it in the next position. then it will be animated. (if you're looking for the quadruped walk designer, forget it. :) ) there is a sample horse gallop animation in the free stuff section, here.

I havn't animated horses but for people I just do the first, middle & last pose & then "interpolate". Turns out pretty good for simple things. This may work for the horse? For some poses see this link: http://people.ne.mediaone.net/daio/index.html

OK, thanx both for the answers. The link you gave me has indeed interesting things. Well the strange thing that happened was this. The very first time that I picked a horse from the library I thought: let's think simple, just click "make movie" (or something like that, unfortunately I forgot) and see wether it works. And it DID! To my own surprise! A walking horse without the help of any CD or extra addition or so. What the hell did this walking rely on I was wondering. Unfortunately I saved it as a single frame. When I tried to repeat this simple method it didn't work any more, what ever I tried. I have tried to find the answer here, but indeed all say (incl you) that you need the CD to do that. Really very strange how I managed that without the CD the very first time.. Some hidden feature found by chance, hocus pocus, a black out or what?

um.... the library file you are referring to was a pose for the horse that had a walk animation in it?? dunno. you cant just open the horse figure, make a movie and have it walking.

If there is a pose saved as a multi-frame animation, you can apply it and have the critter walk. I just read a description of it on the other forum yesterday. In fact, that is the ONLY way to use the walk-designer with animals, with a saved multi-frame pose.
