Hello, I'm planning to post a new free item (Lion new uv). It's a remaped geometry and I received a few mails from people who downloaded it from my website, telling me it was not working. I suppose they are not familiar with UV Maper, as the provided file is an .uvs , but I would like to be sure everything is OK before to post it here in Renderosity. It was made on Mac and I'm not an expert on the conversion between Mac and PC. But it's meant to work on both. Can some of you test it for me ?

Looks like a great lion.

Hey- On a PC with Win2k Poser 4.03. Ok, Looks like a nice job! The UVs imported with UVMapper fine. However the Cr2 has extra binary header information, which Poser (on a pc) can't read. Also there is more binary stuff at the end. This can be removed in text editor. I suppose this is some Mac Resource fork thing. Is there some way you can save the cr2 without this extra info? Regards- Lemurtek

Mac Converter (MartinC's better-than-awesome free mac program) can take a mac .cr2 and make it into a PC .cr2 + .rsr combination. This is part of Mac Converter's expert options. -Adam

I just tested this download on my Mac. Using uvsdecoder to decode the .uvs, and mac Converter to rejoin the .cr2 and .rsr... it works! Nice job. As for Lemurtek's comment about the "extra binary stuff", there is a setting in Mac Converter to "Delete Mac Resourceforks". You should always have this setting turned on. mac users can always recreate the thumbnail from the .rsr. -Adam

Sorry about the stupid question, but has someone knows where can I get the Mc Converter? Thanks in advance.

Haha Poppi! Lions are so far away, they're ok. However, I'm afraid of SPIDERS. I had a dream of a spider the other day, and it was like a HUGE Black widow/another species mix, but its mark was a TARGET logo. And boy was that dream scary.

Poppi & TalmidBen; It' not the lions nor the spiders you need fear, It's The Bunny Rabbits!! Those fluffy, furry Bunny Rabbits! They got those big, narly, sharp bucked-teeth; and those big floppy ears! And What's With All That Hop-Hop-Hoppin around?!? BEWARE THE BUNNY RABBITS!!

I've been looking and looking for a nice looking lion! And I saw the tiger, too. Wonderful, thank you!!

Thank you for your help. I have made a new file with the "Poser Maconverter"option (Delete Macintosh Resourceforks) I hope this will solve the problem with the extra Mac binary information. I'm glad to hear it's working and that the UVs imported fine. I can now post this in the Freestuff area.
