Please tell me if there are any tricks you used to get the file size reduced so much. I'm still undergoing the "compression-depression blues" trying to get my 2 min. 57 sec. animation reduced to an "internet manageable, cross-platform friendly" size, and I'm at the point of having to elect to remove portions of the animation to do it. (FYI, my uncompressed QT file at 30 fps and 640X480 weighs in at over 1 GB, the 320X240 15 fps version comes in at over 600 MB, and I can get the Binked version of the latter only to about 30 MB before losing quality to unacceptable levels.)

what are you using to compress it? those ratios are crazy. 1) try at 320x240 2) if possible drop framerate to 15 3) make sound 11hz stereo or mono even, unless it is vitally important 4) Try different compression schemes,

• i263 - hard for mac users to view if not impossible set video quality around 75%. Data rates of 125 roughly
• Indeo 5.04 - great compression same mac problem as above. Data rates of 125 roughly
• Mpeg - great stuff, set the video data rate to around 800, 600 if you can.

These are general guidelines. I compressed a 320x240 1 one half min file (at 100 megs raw avi) down to about 4 megs or less. Imaginos

Terry I'm a total newbie at animation so I used Media Cleaner and these where the settings used in the wizard WWW quicktime high quality progressive download 56k isdn single H263 Quality 256x192 FR 7.5 But when I play back it says FR of 15 ?? Sorry I couldn't help more.....Steve
