Well, I know a lot don't like the big ears, but to give the Frodo-esque character, some character, I decided to keep them. The next big problem, is the clothes. (don't mind the same old tunic tex. It's just there because) The problem is, when I start posing him the knees and wrists of the clothes detach and give some very strange results. Gee I wish you could just meld the adjusted clothes to the figure! (Poser 5?). I did indeed scale them exactly as I scaled the body. The body bends fine, and looking at the joint params (ewwww! I hate that part, cause I just don't really understand them) they were identical to the main figure/body. Well here is just some more eye candy! James

LOL, I'm cutting a deal with TriStar even as we speak! ROTFLMAO. Yea, I wish. Even though I have a G4 400mhz, Poser and Bryce don't take advantage of it, and I get lots of memory leaks and loading figures in is fine, but rendering them...slows down to a snails pace, or claims it can't find any materials (Yes I have the latest patch, which seems to have slowed things down) I have yet tried to load all 4 characters in one scene in Poser. If you here a sonic explosion...... With all the clothing props and all it would be a mighty sized file indeed. Quick question: I guess the best way to add new characters already created, is to save them as new figures? and then just import them via the poser figure menu? James

The Hobbit character is much more convincing with the modifications you have added. Looks Great!! lets see some more...go on, go on, go on!!! maybe with 4 figures, will be listening for the sonic explosion, but might not hear it here in the shire, I mean the shires of kent, uk. Tribe.

Cool as usual. I like the feet though the beard I am not so sure on ... Great characters though. How do you mean import the figures? Since you are on a Mac (Me too) I dont know a cr2 editor to strip the lights etc to make a character ... Dang .. might have to start making some orcs or something S Great work and I hope to see the whole set one of these days ...

when you scale the clothes down to math Frodo, do you also scale the parts of the clothes that you can't see? e.g. the trousers are cut off at the knee, but you also need to scale the shins which you can't see, so it knows how to bend if that's not the problem...um...don't ask me what is SewerRat

jschoen ( ) posted Wed, 01 March 2000 at 7:39 PM

Yes sewerRat, I scaled the clothes (the shins) to match. The reson for the cut-offs is that at least the top part of the legs bend ok, it was the lower shins and forearms that are giving me problems. James

I'm not sure but I think the PZ3 to CR2 program will meld the clothes (and props and everything else) with the figure.

Some of the descriptions in "The Hobbit" show that Gollum had long webbed toes like a frog's. That would explain how he was so good at swimming in parts of LOTR.

Very very nice, these characters just keep getting better and better. Can you run Composer on you Mac? If so, there's a tutorial by Mason on how to combine a figure and clothes Paul
