Well here I am again. I figured - hey 'Once is never enough', so here's the 2nd unnofficial contest, and trust me it's gonna be as informal as the last one :) Theme: Wildlife Photography - Do you like Lions? Care for Cats? Devoted to Dogs? Interested in Iguanas? Obsessed with Orangutans? Well here you go - make a render of your favorite critter(s). The image can be as complicated as an entire herd of gazzelles at the waterhole, or as sinpleas a cat on a windowsill, but it cannot be excessively violent or depict sexual activity. Rules: No humans or other sentient bipeds, excluding Lemurtek's and Traveler's animal people. Domestic animals okay (cat, dog, horse, cows, etc) Dinosaurs and other extict creatures okay Fantasy animals NOT okay (dragons, unicorns, etc.) Sorry. Backgrounds not neccasary, but preferred, Photo bkgs ok. Render in any program - but start with a poser based creature Postwork okay - animals must have started with rendered animal Up to 5 entries per person No image made before June 1 2002 is eligible. Deadline: Midnight (server time) of July 31st. Approximately. Posting: Please post the image in your gallery, and post a link here. Please mention the program(s) used, and attribute any item's you've used (especially if they are unusual). And feel free to tell us how you did if you did something really clever :) Extra credit: Model the animal first, and then render it. Prize: What else? Textures! First place: 2 animal textures of your choice, painted to order. 2nd place: 1 animal texture of your choice, painted to order Lyrra

Render in any program - but start with a poser based creature Extra credit: Model the animal first, and then render it So if i model my own animal, i have to poserize it before i render it?

DarkPhoenix - well this is the Poser forum. So I guess, yeah. Sorry! Eric - well if I'm silly enough to do this again I'll throw 'Fantasy Creatures' into the voting. When I typed 'no dragons' I could just hear LittleDragon whimpering in protest ;) But meanwhile - actual existing Poser rendered Earth creatures only. Hey you guys could have picked Swimsuits :)

scifiguy ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 12:12 AM

Do I get extra credit if I put my animal in a swimsuit: :D

Dolphin ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 6:09 AM

bah humbugL.. I don't got no decent animalsL.. nevermind.. just thought I'd say I think it's real sweet of you running these compos off your own back. It's good to see someone offering motivation and reward for all the artists out there :) Dolph.

tonymouse ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 11:14 AM

Hey Lyrra, I have one question unless I am mistaken, Rule one allows Us to use the Lemurtech and Travlers animal people. But not to use clasic fantasy beastiary??

tony - yeah that thought suddenly ocurred to me too. Um. Drat. I contradicted myself. Uhh..... the new rule one: No humans or other sentient bipeds. Sorry about that guys - I goofed :)

tonymouse ( ) posted Mon, 08 July 2002 at 3:43 PM

Cool, no sweat, just wanted to be sure, since I am fantasy inclined. Now just to be a stinker. What about cartoon animals?? Please don't hit me Lyrra, well then again depending on what you plan on hitting me with, (eyes sparking with possibilitys) :)
