when I click soft shadow in skylab, it works as a preview. in main screen nano & render, no.

Make sure that you close Skylab by clicking on the checkmark (accept changes), not on the cross (discard changes).

There's actually a bug in Bryce 5 (my version, anyway) where soft shadow works until you choose a preset sky in the skylab. After that, when you choose soft shadow it shows it in the skylab but not on the main screen. When you go back into skylab the check-box is unchecked. It doesn't bother me now because I never use skylab for lighting, but it royally p*ssed me off before!

Turn the softshadow option on in the skylab, then save the sky preset and it will stay on after the sky has been saved as a preset, yes it is a known bug:-(

Do atleast one thing a day that scares the hell outta ya!!
