Headless horror. I'm having a strange problem. I created a character (based on the P4NW) with a lot of ERC in her, the character it's self works fine, the problem is when I load another character based on the "P4NudeWom.obj", it comes in headless. My first thought was that this was some crosstalk issue, but as far as I know there is no ERC in the default P4 Nude Woman's head, so that can't be the issue, right?

My character has a lot of ERC controlling the joints, plus one full body morph, the only ERC that relates to the head is the FBM, and the rotation and translation channels for the eyes, I can't think of any logical reason why this should be happening, but it is. Does anyone know what's happening here, or how I can troubleshoot this problem?

According to the Properties dialogue for the head its visible, but its not! Applying a show pose does not help, neither does restoring the figure. Below is a list of the things I can think of that are special or different in my character as opposed to the P4 Nude woman:

Full body morph.
Joint ERC.
Magnet applied to hip.
A smart prop attached to each eye.
Scaling applied to head and limbs.

I can't think why any of these should cause this problem, but the problem is there. If I load the P4 Nude Woman first, then my character, the problem does not occur, and I can even load subsequent P4 characters with out any problem, but if I load my character first, then I get the headless horror. HELP PLEASE!!!

I had some similar problem and solved copying the file "P4NudeWom.obj" to another one "anyname.obj" and editing the cr2 of the character to use the geometry "anyname.obj". I don't know why this happens.

Stupidity also evolves!

heyas; check your cr2 for custom geometry in the head. no, i don't know why that would make poser freak out. also check your cr2 for two objfile lines. sometimes cr2's come out with only one. in fact, check for both. if the cr2 doesn't have a second objfile line, poser might get confused as to which geometry it is looking at for the joint section. on the other hand, it might be a corrupted rsr, and your figure only works because it does have custom geometry in the head. i dunno, i'm just guessing. :)

Bloodsong, you were right, there is a "geomCustom" statement under the head actor. I made a new group for the eye sockets, and stupidly, did not realize that would force poser to write the head into the cr2, at least I think that's how it happened. I removed the geomCustom, and now it works fine, guess I can live with out the custom eye sockets. Thanks for the help folks.

Cant you just use a mesh that still has the customizations to the eye socets for your morph targets?
