I am happy to knew that poser 5 is coming (can I say soon?):P But I have some questions that hope to find the answer. Can poser 5 still use the models that poser 4 use? Mice, Vicky, Posette, EveIf they can be use, can the hair grow out from their heads? If they cannot be usenumerous things will become useless. From some messages before, it said poser 4 models can be use in poser 5. So I just though of a thing. If poser 4 models can use in poser 5 but cannot add hair, it will be a difficult choose. Keep using the stuffs that were already brought, but cannot have the best result, or use a new model and spend a lot of money to buy new stuffs? It will be perfect if the poser 4 models can be use as the models that comes with poser 5. Another question is also related to hair. There are some plugin for those high-ended software, but the price is above $300, and now poser 5 is $549, I believe that the price is closely related to what I can get, so how well can poser 5 do? No matter how many questions, I am now saving money for poser 5.

Yes old models will work perfectly well in Poser5. My guess would be that the hair er growing? feature will work on any model but I don't think anyone has said anything about that so it is just a guess! How well can Poser5 do? We won't know till we see some renders and none have been released yet. I'm willing to bet it will be stunning though! Baz

They showed hair growing on a sphere prop, with color based on material regions, so why not Posette, Dork, Vicky and Mike? After a flood of hairy renders, bald might start looking good :-)

Here is a thread that Kupa posted on compatibility of old figures for reference. It is also in the forum resources room at the top of all of your pages: http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=771039

It is my guess that many of the elabrate hairdos that are currently available may be difficult and time consuming to recreate with strand based hair and of course the processing time is an issue, and the same is true of many of the other new features. at the very least if you want more then one figure in the scene at a time you'll want some that don't tie up massive processing time as well as not needing the extra detail. I don't think it's productive to think that you'll have to throw your P4 models on the scrap heap yet.
