Check out this previous post....check near the bottom.Great info. I just added it to my Carrara tips. Buy why is this (and a lot of use ful info, like making transparent masks work) not in the manual....? Please.... Eovia should release a PDF or viewlet to all registered users with useful tips and ticks (or some really basic stuff) that is not included in the manual.... Here's my current score People from the List 5 - Eovia 1 : )
That's an excellent article, but I have one question.... In section B: Changing the shape of particles, it says to "set the shape of the particles to rectangle". I don't see a particle shape option in the particle modeling window. Where is that option (or is it part of the "Boolean Textures" tutorial mentioned later in the message? Thanks for your help, Jim Z. a.k.a. Julian Boolean
hi @ all i am sure this sounds like a really newbie - question... (carrara 2) when i place a particle emitter in the scene, the particle emitter winsows opens. as far, as good. now I change the settings, for example duration, speed, angle, emitting range and all that stuff. I look to the preview, it looks like i would like it to look. i go back to the scene window and: there is nothing at all. just the emitter , and no particles. sometimes, there are a few particles when i scrubb the time once or twice, and sometimes there are some particles when i scale the emitter itself. sometimes when i do so, and do render later, it renders the animation, but only some particles appear, they dont move at all, some other appear, that dont move... i feel very sad about it. whats wrong there? do the emitters need different keyframes? and how should this work?and if so, why does the emiter window not display the changing during animation time? Absolutly desolated and thanksfull for every reply yours benjamino
and last but not least.... persuming, the emitter works... how could it be possible to start with an emitting emitter that does not grow. for example: a fpountain that always works; scene starts, fountain sparkels, scene goes on, fountain sparkels, and on and on. no growing, no increasing. does that wor a way. just if the emitter works naturally... thanks a lot for beeing patient with somebody very disappointed... benjamino

I am using a particle emitter inside a tube to look like particles (water)is coming out. My only problem is that I can't change the color of the particles from the default grey. I changed the color chips and everything, adjusted the slider, etc..., but when I render the scene (animation) - all the materials come out but the particles don't. Is this a bug or am I missig something? Thanks, Chris
