THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: nudity

this is what you get when give a bad voting and a comment about the nudity: this was my comment, maybe a little hard, but wanted to see how people who make those pics would react, and there is no nudity box checked.... "sorry but this has nothing to do with bryce I think, and think you have to post this on an other site called renderotica. You could at least check the nudity box and cover up the naked parts. have a look in the bryce forum what the others think about this type of pics. Sorry for my criticism, but follow the rules of this community and there will be no problem at all " Instant Message from MeEgJa: About your comment about my image Beauty in the Night .... I did check the naked box. I am around in the 3D community for a long time now and I know the "rules". If the box is not working, then it is the fault of Renderosity and not mine. As for the nudity: stop whining? Please read the "All Galleries Warning" in the openings page of the Gallry Pages. As for this being posted in Bryce: this is something that Renderosity is encouraging ... as they find ( and I agree) that images made/rendered in Bryce, should be posting in the Bryce Galleries. So please, lighten up will ya? That or grow up. And at least read the rules of Renderosity yourself, seems that you didn't. this was his answer, so I think now he is mad maybe he is right wozz

I think the only time that nudity box comes into play is when you have no nudity checked in your
profile, then it won't show images that have the nudity box checked. So, if you have the show nudity
in your profile there would be no way of knowing if the box was checked because you are seeing
all the pics. Clear as mud??? I think if you just not show nudity in the thumbnails would help a lot.

Well, I just took a Poser tour with my horny husband today. We specifically were looking for nudity tags in the thumbnails but found a lot of thumbnails that didn't specify this and also a lot of thumbnails that showed the nudity upfront. Hmmm, I have no objection to nudity (otherwise, I wouldn't have been looking) but I do believe in guidelines, such as specifying it in the thumbnails. How hard is that. Also, I would have thought breasts were considered part of genitalia but unless a Mod missed it I came across one poser scene where one woman was holding (fondling) another woman's breasts. Oh well, so much for the rules. I agree with Vile, there should be some standards. And I don't have a problem with nudity, but it should be tasteful and it should be appropriately marked. the whole purpose of a thumbnail is to give only a portion of the whole pic and entice the viewer to click on it to see what the rest of the pic looks like. Come on, anyone looking for nudity doesn't need to see it in the thumbnail, if the tag is there they will follow it to the big picture. But what am I thinking, oh that everyone here is mature. If that were the case then this issue wouldn't be an issue. LOL.

At the end of the day we don't have to look at nudity, porn or whatever. We have umpteen billion websites to choose from.

I took a look at your gallery, wozzyke, and didnt' see any nudes. However, it has been a discussion in the Poser forum. Part of the discussion centered around newbies who use Poser like kids peaking at Barbie Doll's when the first see one. The other part centered around classy and artistic nudity vs. porn. And the last part of the discussion centered around not checking the nudity box. Some suggested that nudity should be banned, others suggested that free exercise of artistic ability should never be banned. Just so you know, because nudity is in the thumbnails, and because nudity is sometimes not in the check box, I cannot visit this site at work. It would be a firing offense to have porn on the history or temp internet files at work and the boss considers ANY nude picture or even a clothed erotic picture to be porn. I don't make up the rules, but I sure as heck follow them. So the bottom line... no one at work sees my gallery for fear of loosing their jobs should they wander out of my gallery and get slimed. Free speech means many things. Censorship means many things. Because this community can't abide by the rules there's a whole group that will never see what we do here. Check the box and keep your thumbnails clean.

Okay, i have quite a few nudes in the gallery. yet, no one has ever stated that any of them were offensive. and, some of the very best here, poserwise, that is....have alot of very nice nude works. banning nudes from the gallery is no answer. teaching folks what is and is not acceptable, in posting, here would be. and, what i am talking about is gratuitious nudity. lately, it seems as if a bunch of 15 year olds have taken to our gallery, and, made visual statements to all of their friends...."look dude, i got poser. it is so cool...there is a chick....and, she has HOOTERS, DUDE...i can make 'em HUGE....and, she's got HANDS....woowoo....hang on....gotta change my screen....mom's home. i think so many of us, myself included, feel uncomfortable leaving less than praise ringing comments in someone's gallery. last time i was honest, i got publically FLAMED in the poser forum. groan. but, if all of us, went about ever so gently saying....no, i just don't like your picture. it is nothing more than nudity, for the sake of nudity...next time, try to put a bit more time into it...yadda yadda. perhaps, some of the posters of such renders will get the hint....hey, you may get alot of hits with those hooters....but, is anyone actually ENJOYING your image? could you do better? and, even...come on, now, impress me. just some thoughts on how to make our galleries enjoyable for everyone. as for the nudity at work issue....your boss needs to get a life. where do you live, anyway? that sounds WAAAY too strict. i give out links to my gallery to folks who come to my office and like art. most of the time at work, my screen is on rhino, making some sort of prop, or clothing article for vicki...and, everyone who peeps and looks at it....from elderly folks, to young mothers, say...wow...that is so neat, what you're doing...and, it gets into explanations, and, ice is broken. (works for me.) folks, you must understand. the "people" portrayed in our galleries are not "people". and, the ever so smart, marketing powers for poserfolk....they had to NAME their models...they had to humanize them. oh, geeze. i think there is really no solution to all this. :*(

Renderosity is now on the blocked web-sites list at my previous work-place, along with all the porn sites! ;) They didn't mind fiddling the figures, but a few titties was too much for them! Uh oh, the MIB will be after me now!!! ;)

Eric's boss might be too uptight for us artsy types, but we're not the ones going to bed at night worrying about who's going to sue us in the morning for something that was under our control. It may not be his workplace that has the problem so much as our society in general. It's sadly ironic that because one group of people has no regard for the rules of this community and another group of people is all too willing to over-enforce the rules of the larger community, folks like Eric don't get to share their art with the ones with whom they'd most like to share it...
