Subject: Bryce DTE

Does anyone know of some good material that covers in depth in the DTE and especially in Alpha channels... I've had a real hard time finding good material that covers anything that has been helpful enough. If anyone knows of some good extensive tutorials, that'd be super. Either that or I'll just go buy the book (but $50 ain't worth it in my opinion :P) Thanks -xheathen

Saw a copy of Real World Bryce by Kitchens on ebay for cheap. Keep an eye out there. Other than that, the best tut I've seen is at www.brycetech.com and its one of those links on the left side.

Real World Bryce can be found at amazon.com for much cheaper and it's worth every penny.

x, from a technical standpoint I know that in a 32 bit pict: the first 8 bits are the red channel. the second 8 bits are the green channel. the third 8 bits are the blue channel. the fourth 8 bits are the alpha channel. (which bit in the alpha does what I don't know.) each channel maps the entire image seperately and is found in sequence in the image of a BMP file as Header RGBARGBA . . . RGBA. red and blue may or not be reversed. . . . if that helps. I want to get that Kitchen's book too. I have heard good things about it from many sources - not just here. - TJ

Just about everything you need or want to know about DTE or bryce in general can be found in Real world bryce.. and your right $50 is alot but there is alot of info in there. Amazon has a used copy for $14 and theyre pretty good about the condition of the used books. Unfortunately is hasnt been updated to ver 5 yet. So no tree lab. Otherwise its a great book.

I paid full price and have never regretted it. Best fifty bucks I have ever spent in my life.
