THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: How do I delete a file in Bryce?

Embarassing to ask, but I can't figure out how to delete a file in Bryce. The manual (p. 25) only discusses how to save and close files, same with Help and Real World Bryce. I feel like I'm missing something really obvious, but I've puzzled over this for several weeks. I can remove all objects from the scene and rename the file when I want to start a new one, but isn't there an easier way? I have Bryce 5.

hmmm, is there a "new document" or similar command under the file menu (don't have bryce with me at the moment so don't know exactly what its called). Is that what you're after, or am I misunderstanding the question?

Hi, June! If you have started a project and have decided to give up on it...go to 'File' and then select new document. You will be given the option to save the project you are scrapping. Select 'don't save'. Now you will get a new document to start something new on. OR: In your Bryce folder on your hard-drive....look for and delete the file relating to the project you want to delete. something like; C:program filesmetacreationsbryce5myprojectssomething.br5 'something' being the title you gave your project/render. Also, you need to delete the .BMP file that actually contains your last saved render. So you delete C:blah blahblahblahsomething.BMP OR Finally: On your document place your cursor in the top left-hand corner, click and drag ove the page to select all the objects you have created. When they are selected hit the 'delete' button on your keyboard. You will be left with a blank page unless you didn't select ALL your objects. In which case try again. Remember that you cannot remove the sky in this way or any objects that have been 'locked'. The sky can be removed by going to the sky dropdown menu and selecting 'RESET SKY'. Hope this helps. Also if you made a default.br5 file in your bryce folder just go to FILE/OPEN and load that file. New document usually reset it to factory default.
