ok gang I got this one made, and I'd like suggestions for settings to make the best appearance in Bryce

Cool design, but as for suggestions, the band looks too wide or the diamond looks too small. Nice though. -Paul

I was talking about the stone facets that are clear in Rhino. This stone's bigger

Hi, Duga! I think there are better 'gold' presets out there, some with nice textures and effects. I'll send them to you if you like. Regards The Bryster (Chris)

To render gold, what is nice to do, is to use tricks explained by AgentSmith last month (Global illumination). Select mirror as material for your object and choose the color of your pic on the giant sphere according what you want to get. Here is posette in white-gold. Thanks again Agent for sharing this great process.

Hi Duga, And here I try to make the render of your ring in Bryce using the 'AgentSmith process' (everything modeled in Amapi). For gold is quite good. Pearl-necklace is too shiny (need some more adjustment) but that shows you the reflection of giant sphere. TIR adjusted for diamond according advices of 'Cobalt'. This process is really great.

Well, interesting. How do I obtain this kind of gold? Is it regular metals? If I put a giant sphere in my scene... well, one must try many times. My point - u can't have them all, can u? the stone's facets disapear and I think it has to do with lighting

TrAnd ( ) posted Sun, 04 August 2002 at 6:17 AM

Material for ring is mirror. It's only reflection. For the diamond I use one white and one blue light just behind.

Pls, never used mirror before. Downloaded gems and lost simple materials. Any help? I want to make an arsenal of gold & platine materials

Regardind this kind of textures, you must have a look to Redinard's Gallery. He is really doing great things and beautiful pics. And he must have some free textures to download.
