K, Listen up all !!! the app wings3d has been around for a little while now and it's one of the most powerfull modeling apps I've seen so far, best thing bout it is that it's abselutely F R E E !!! http://www.wings3d.com I'm a LW user. Lightwave is an awesome app, but Wings3d is an awesome modeling app. Yes I not afraid to say even better modeling than LW, max, C4d, Nendo, and more. http://www.wings3d.com these works above and under are all modeled in a timeframe of 30 to 90 minutes. Now I'm not new to 3d, but I am to wings, and these are the results of a wings newb !! http://www.wings3d.com We are currently planning a chatroom meeting to let all of you curious dudes and dudets ask questions and show of your work. http://www.wings3d.com

I'm a big fan of wings too. I use trueSpace/zBrush primarily (really looking forward to the new version of zBrush... due out any week now), but I still find myself jumping to wings for putting together rough geometries. , fgeorge

I'm on a Mac and I don't have OSX yet but this looks ideal for me. I actually downloaded it for the day OSX gets installed but I can't open the file so I don't even know if it comes with a manual. The tutorials on the site are so basic as to be useless. I'm interested in vertex modelling (er I think, I don't know the first thing about modelling!) constructing a model point by point/polygon by polygon or similar. Do you know where I can find any good tuts on organic modelling in Wings? Baz

I'll give it a shot, never done much poly modeling (I'ma nurbs guy)...but its something to try. Thanks man!

I would love to see a forum for us newbie Wings users. I just download it and the engine to run it last week....but alas, turns out I now need a bigger HD, by end of month I hope... but it clearly will be better than Anim8or I am currently using and any guidance would be of great value!
