THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: How to make the clouds static while animating

Akril ( ) posted Wed, 07 August 2002 at 8:53 PM · edited Sat, 21 September 2024 at 12:10 PM

I'm trying to animate a scene, and it's "out-doors", so to speak, that is, under a visible sky. With clouds. The problem is, when I'm doing this little animation, The clouds always move, even though the camera remains where it is. Is there any way to make the clouds stop moving while I'm animating something where the camera is staying in one place? Akril

Yes, I've had exactly the same problem. I think I fixed it by going into the Sky Lab, then Cloud Cover tab, and set Cloud Motion to 0.

Wow, this is serendipitous. I'm a newbie, working my way through Real World Bryce and yesterday I did a tutorial on animation, 3 seconds long. The sky changes from blue to purple, with pretty cumulous clouds. When the animation played, the clouds were whizzing by like time lapse photography--annoying! So, thanks, Akril, for asking teh question and thanks, Martin, for answering it. I'll try that.

I got it! Thanks a lot! Akril
