I was told about a terrific texture site WWW.3dtextures.fr.st, free textures and they are great. My problem is when I download them, and try to open them I get a "invalid jpeg message" (see attached) Here is what I do; 1)left click on texture 2)Right click on large image of texture 3)Select "save as" 4)Select "*art file format(only two choices,*art, bitmap) I tried both File downloads, but when I try to open I get the attached message. I see all those great textures, and I can't get to them. Can anybody help? :oP

Sometime as you same off the internet the image are same as bmp format with the .jpg. Try "OPEN AS" with bmp format. thebert

Just tried that, no luck. The files show a jpg extension.

If you use "OPEN AS" the jpg extension does not matter and use select BMP format. This let you open a file with one extension and another format so. If the file is same a pictures using IE from the internet file has Image.jpg. IE sometime same the file as bmp format with a *.jpg extension. I'd try selecting the file and try other format to see what image type it is. thebert

Your useing AOL as your server(Art is thier format). After you have downloaded, from your America Online window....click file..open..click on your image.(have to do one at a time)..a smaller window will appear..in that window click SAVE. Your done, your file has been put back to it's orginal format. Goofy I know as the ART format can only be read by AOL.

Sorry..forgot to say in my above reply...your file will not have the ART ext. after it (it'll say jpg)But if it wont't open it's in Art. Just follow what I told you to do only if you get that error message, as sometimes it will be saved in a readable format. Very Goofy!

A "Charlie Tuna" suggested I go to AOL preferences and change the "Web Graphics" to "never compress". I did and I now dowmload with out any extra steps and no problems. Thanks again everyone, I do appreicate you help.
