While researching for this month's challenge (I haven't started yet and I fdon't know if I will have time), I came across this website... ... maybe some of you will be interested :)

Nice. But completely illegal stuff!!! Guitta

I am assuming then that he has illegal models. Burns me up when people do this! BTW -- thanks for letting me know! I wish there was an easy way to tell what is legal and what is not. Since I hadn't run across these elsewhere, I would have assumed that he had created them.

Sorry, it is peobably that I'm wrong. I have seen this stuff on other places and thought that it is Poser (or DAZ) stuff. But it seems that he is in fact the creator (I hope so). Also please forgive my previous mail and just run to get the stuff. (I hope I'm not wrong here:-)) Guitta

Guitta: I know it is always a possibility to run into illegal downloads, but I am wondering what made you doubt on that one. I have ran into that website many time and it never occured to me to suspect anything wrong :)

Modeling a dinosaur in Lightwave
Inspiration
Details about dinosaurs (from the BBC's series). I promise... this is the last one.

Have you never made an error in your life, Bill?

agiel ( ) posted Sun, 11 August 2002 at 10:05 PM

Tesign.... no need to make a big deal about this. It is just an honest mistake about virtual dinosaurs. Guitta apologized already... what else do you need ? To move this thread in a better direction.... I couldn't find anything about prehistoric plants. Any suggestion about this ? Links to websites with images would do fine.

I don't think these are DAZ but they are probably Dedicated Digital dinos from what I have seen... not legal to give those away if they are.. I think Vue has a cycad, doesn't it? Those short squat palm looking things that were here in dino times... Lyne

Life Requires Assembly and we all know how THAT goes!

About the dinos... all you have to do is download them and open them in poser. The quality is great for hand made models but I would be disappointed if I had to buy these... they really do not look like professional work. Thanks about the plant... I will check it out.

Do you people really think my dinos are as good as DAZ or Dedicated Digital? If so......I'll quit working 12hr days and start making models full time. ;-) gebe....Don't worry about the mistake. You corrected it right away and that took a lot of guts to say you made a mistake. Lyne....If you are the same Lyne that makes those great animals for poser. Then I am very flattered that you could mistake my work for those professional companies. If I could fool you. I must be at least fairly good at it. Should I quit my day job and do this stuff for a living? I really never thought I was more than just so-so at modeling. But all this talk about my work being as good as DAZ and DD has me thinking I underestimated my abilities. ScottA

I started this baby Hadrosaur model a while back. But work has me so bogged down these days that I never got a chance to finish her. ScottA

Scott... glad you shed some light on this :) As for your modeling capabilities, I wish I had about half of yours :) I have been trying Amapi and Carrara for a while now and my modeling capabilities amount to a couple of spheres and a box. My kids love your Homer by the way.
