Subject: I know that Poser 5 will cure cancer...

...but does anyone know if Poser 5 will feature alternate render styles, like toon or cel-shaded rendering? I experiment with cel rendering in Lightwave, but I'm hoping I'll be able to do it straight from Poser 5. Maybe with the new texture controls, it'll allow for some really cool texturing effects. (Would flowing water be out of the question?) I'm hoping that Curious Labs will make connections with companies like DarkTree and other third-party shader manufacturers to really enhance the quality and number of textures we'll be able to apply. I mention this because one Lightwave shader manufacturer has a Toon procedural texture which allows for a toon look, as well as a shader which gives a nice crosshatched line look. Any clues, anyone?

in a word: yes

SmallFry could you point me to that Lightwave shader manufacturer? I saw a preview of 3D Studio 5 and it has a toon shader with a 2D hand-drawn or drafted style, but since I use LW I would be really interested in a shader like that for LightWave7. Thank you

Staby, have a look at the link, Simbiont2 includes a cross hatched sketch shader, and Darkling have just released it for free for LW, Max, tS, A:M and Cinema.

To Staby... This link ought to point you in the right direction. Plus it ought to point to a virtual plethora of prodigious procedurals for your pictorial pleasure! To Nosfiratu... You're as cryptic as the sphinx. From you I learn the value of patience. Thank you.

hmmmm... after thinking about your reply, Nosfiratu, will Poser 5 allow for effects animations like fire or smoke? and maybe a new sky generator?
