Subject: Poser Animation Into Bryce for the Mac

Eugenius ( ) posted Wed, 14 August 2002 at 5:42 PM ยท edited Mon, 04 November 2024 at 10:09 PM

Does anyone know of a third party software that can format and import an Poser animation into Bryce for the Mac? I am aware of the Suzanna software by Datamike, however it is only for the PC platform. Thank you, Eugenius.

Hello Eugenius; To the best of my knowledge it (unfortunately) can't be done. I know that CL P5 will have the ability to plug into other 3d software some time soon, but into which programs (specifically) has not yet been revealed. The poser Pro Pack enables importing into Lightwave, C4DXL, and 3D Studio Max, but not Bryce. You are not alone in wanting to be able to do that. What is, and where can I find out more about Suzanna? P.C. user here.........

Hey Krimpr, Thanks for the information. I guess will have to wait and see which format will Curious labs export their Poser 5 animation to. You can find Susanna (sorry for the mispelling in my previous email) at this URL. It was created by a company in Finland, but you can purchase it in USD. The site has examples how it works: it looks very cool. Eugenius.

If you read at the site there is no mention of Bryce for plugins. Also they mention that the new high end features in P5 won't be exportable.

Thanks for the link, I've never heard of this before, and only $50.00! Gonna order it tomorrow (payday). About the same price as a case of beer and a Happy Meal at McDonalds here in Canada. (well, maybe a little bit more.) I've been downloading sample clips for the last hour or so. Hopefully a Mac version is in the works for you Mac people, or CL revises the plug in options when the dust settles. (You're right Barbarellany, I haven't seen anything commital yet either.) Fingers crossed for updates... Thanks again Eugenius, if I find anthing I'll update you... krimpr.

Susanna will be upgraded to work with Poser 5 soon after P5 hits the street. Upgrade is free for 6 months after purchase so those who bought sometime after feb-march will get a free update.

Thank you again Eugenius for the link. It was payday today :) and I just ordered Susana. I haven't been a snooper here long, (a couple of weeks) as I just ordered the P4-Propack last week.(Have LW 6.5). I've never heard of Susanna before but the price is great, and the animation samples at their site look pretty good to me. I sure like Bryce's ability to generate beautiful landscapes (of course) and know that one of the main wishes of many in this forum is the ability to import Poser animations into it. Does anyone have opinions on or experience with Susanna? Thanks;
krimpr.

Congratulations Krimpr! There's nothing like new apps to explore and have fun, especially with animation. I'm glad I was able to help. I recently purchased Carrara 1.1 from a friend of mine and hoping to design some cool stuff and importing it to Bryce for render someday. I'm still at the tutorial level. As far as animation go, I guess I'll wait for P5...or buy Lightwave :-) Have fun and render well! Eugenius
