Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 25 12:38 pm)
There is a convention for the names of corresponding left and right parts, for the symmetrical mechanism to work. Look at the names of the parts in a standard Poser figure. I think the rule is that the corresponding left and right parts must be named l#### and r####, where #### is the same in both parts. E.g in a Poser model of a sumbarine, the symmetricalizing mechanism is unlikely to recognize that portForeHydroplane and stbdForeHydroplane are a symmetrical pair!!

Is anyone one else having problems with the symmetrical options in Poser4? It seems to work sometimes. And not others. And If I rotate the center axis on one side. It sometimes doesn't translate properly to the other side of the figure like it should. Sometimes it does nothing at all. I use it on custom figures. And the body parts aren't always the default Poser type names. And I get inconsistent results with it at best. ScottA
