The Link Above takes you directly to the Morphos Page. (ADD - Code=new after the ending of the link. Sorry about that) Has anyone bought Morphos for Poser from DAZ? I just saw it and think it looks pretty neat. I am dedicating myself to animation so that would really help me to create my people faster in order to focus on the animations part... Any good or bad comments before I wip out my CC. Ratings Please!!!

I looked, but not sure yet, hope you get some feedback.

Not to sound like a pushy salesman, but remember DAZ offeres a 30 day satisfaction guarantee. So you really do not have a lot to risk by purchasing it. We are really excited about this product simply because of the fun factor. It is fun to push a button and see it generate new faces and bodies. You have the ability to channel the randomization as well by selecting the morph dials that you would like to effect the model. I expect that this product will be very popular. If you do get it, please let me know what you think of it. Dan Farr

I'm interested too, but I would like to have some more informations. Does it work only with the morphs of the standard Mike/Vicky 2.0 or with custome and third party morphs as well? I mean if I add (for example) Boris morphs by Capsces to the Mike 2.0 cr2, could I develope new sliders that include these additional morphs?

danfarr ( ) posted Fri, 16 August 2002 at 4:14 PM

Staby, You can actually add additional custom morphs into the file. There is a readme included with the application that tells how to add or setup new morphs for Morphos. Dan Farr

I just bought the product, thinking it would work with the standard Poser 4 characters. However, the ReadMe (available only after installation) states : "Morphos will work with the following: Victoria 1 and 2, Michael 1 and 2, Stephanie, Preteen Vicki, Preschool Vicki, Preteen Boy, Preschool Boy, and the Millenium Baby." So, since I only have Stephanie on my home PC, and do not have the wherewithal to purchase other figures in quantity from DAZ to outfit my students' computers, I guess I'll have to pass on this one. It works ok with my home PC, but that's as far as it can go. I can't kick at the price, but a little more info up-front on what figures it will/won't work with would be nice. -scara

Out of the box, this is true. It appears that if you wanted to you could create a set for other characters. I almost expect that someone will do this if it becomes popular enough.

I bought Morphs. I followed the instructions and installed it into ProPack. It loads up fine. I don't seem to have as many sliders as they have in the picture on the website. Anyone know why? Also, is there a help file that tells what each slider does? I found a couple of help files but they didn't cover what I was looking for? I only tried it out for a few minutes, so I'm not going to offer any evaluation of it yet. That wouldn't be fair. But here are a few things I noticed. The reset button sets all the sliders to 1, except for the head (or was it face?). Anyway it was the one at the top. I would have thought reset would reset the model back to "No Morphs". Also, I didn't generate any morphs that I wanted to keep, so I didn't click save. I mention that only because it might have something to do with the small problem I experienced. I clicked on exit and the buttons go away, but not the window. I can minimize it and switch to poser and continue working, but I can't get the window to close until I shut down Poser. I don't think it's suppose to work that way. Is it something I'm doing. I'm running Poser 4.03 with ProPack SR3 on windowsXP Pro. I have a 100 gig harddrive with plenty of space and 512 memory. I wasn't running any other programs except Poser at the time. I seldom run more than one program at a time. Lastly, it would seem that you want to make only small adjustments to the sliders? Is that correct? Thanks. Kevin

In the help files, they mention how to add the other morphs. It is time-consuming tho, and if you decide to do it I would strongly suggest making a backup copy of the morphos file first. I don't have the same problem you have as far as the window not going away. I am also on XP with Propack. Now, you shouldn't click on the Poser window while you are running Morphos. That will lock up Morphos, and this is what I think you may be doing.

Pilot: Right you are! The irony is that I just got my weekly e-mail solicition from DAZ announcing the "Window-only" Morphos. Apparently, they don't even know there's a Mac version. :0

All this sounds very interesting. The only problem is that I've been unable to visit the DAZ site for days now. I can get to other web sites just fine.

unclebob ( ) posted Sun, 18 August 2002 at 5:05 PM

I too just bought it and thought it was for Poser (needing Pro Pack to see WYSIWYG), so I just assumed that it would work for the standard Poser characters just that you wouldn't have the instant see it as you do it. Then after I read the readme I see it is just for DAZ characters (which I have none), yes it is only $10.00 but still !! then this begs the question, if I buy Michael 2.0, will I have to buy clothes for him as well or does he come with some ? thanks, bob

Jcleaver ( ) posted Sun, 18 August 2002 at 5:28 PM

See my earlier post. I believe it will work on other characters providing you are willing to create the entry for it. DAZ only created the ones for their characters. If I'm wrong, hopefully someone will set me straight. I may have to try to create one just for the exercise.

I was wrong about not all the sliders appearing. When I ran morphos again today, I saw there was vertical bar that provides access to the other sliders. And I think I'm beginning to understand a little more how this thing works. However, I still have a problem closing the morphos window after I'm finished. I click on EXIT and the button says in, and then nothing else happens. And I'm sure I didn't click on Poser while using morphs. I tried saving a morph one time to see if that made any difference, but it didn't. If I minimize the window and then re-open it, the morphs window will be empty, but I still can't close it. I don't think I could close the python window either, but I think it went away after I minimized the morphs window after pressing EXIT. A separate time I ran morphs, I thought maybe I needed to maximize the window, so I tried that. But that was a mistake. I couldn't see my DAZ model anymore. So I switched it back to the default size and my Poser window turned white. Nothing I could do would get the model to reappear. And I couldn't close either program at that point. So I hit cont-alt-del and ended them. I guess this isn't a major problem because I can work in poser after I've finished with morphs, I just can't close the morphs window by exiting. Kevin
