Subject: Guess Where Mike Is! (WIP)

TalmidBen ( ) posted Sun, 18 August 2002 at 7:43 PM · edited Fri, 02 August 2024 at 1:17 PM

Can anyone here guess at whose steps Mike is standing? This is a project I started last night, once made this of primitives in Bryce4, now am working on it in Lightwave 6.5, and it will eventually be poserized and Brycerized (?) (Preston, let's create a package, or trade?) So, can you guess what FAMOUS architecture this is? Ben

Whoops. Here's the image.

Is that it or just the beginning? If that is the whole structure, I guess I don't know it. ;0)

Not sure where it is, but it looks really nice. I really love environments for Poser settings. Melanie

err, could it be the Lincoln Memorial?

TalmidBen ( ) posted Sun, 18 August 2002 at 7:57 PM

Hey thanks y'all! This is just the beginning. It will be very detailed, and low-res as possible.

here's another hint, the Rosity member "Preston" should know it.

Hmmm . . . its looks to me that Mike could be standing before the doors of Solomon's Temple. Jay

So so so close. This is the second temple, the one made majestic by Herod. The one Jesus stood upon, and was tempted to cast Himself down, as the angels would have caught Him, and the peoples would have been amazed and believed that He was the Messiah (but it couldn't happen that way), and this is the Temple (well, a bit outside of it), where Jesus cast the moneychangers out of the courts. It will be complete, with the surrounding courts, sections, altar, laver, and much more. Preston has already created the Priestly Garments.

Here's a look at the completed model (this is a real model made in Jerusalem) http://www.abu.nb.ca/ecm/pictures/1998/may.gif

Here's a large pic of another model

That's amazing---what scale is the full model at the link above? I've been to Israel twice, but I never heard about it, or I'd have gone to see it. Love biblical archaeology, always have. :)

It looks great!

Pat, Didn't you guys see the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit when it was at the DeYoung? They not only had 14 scroll fragments and some archeological bits and pieces (I remember a casket, some medallions, and lots of oil lamps), but a huge model of the temple. Other things, too, to expand upon the stories mentioned in the scrolls. Carolly

Poser World has some great Biblical costumes that would go great with this. Can't wait to see the finished version. Melanie

That was August and this is January...did you ever get it finished?
