Subject: Hummmm.....pro-pack only poses?

XSashaX ( ) posted Mon, 19 August 2002 at 4:03 PM · edited Sat, 30 November 2024 at 1:46 AM

There is a set of poses available that say 'pro-pack version' and 'system requirements: pro pack'.

I don't have pro pack.

If I get these poses and install them in poser, what will be missing? Just the thumbnail pictures? Or is it something else I haven't read about?

Many thanx :)
Sasha

The thumbnail images will be missing in the library if it's Pro Pack only.

Ahhhhh...just wanted to be sure. Thank you! :)

Well there is one more thing... You might get a "Newer version" warning, but click past that and the pose will load.

If the thumbnails are missing, you can convert the png thumbnails to rsr by using P3DO.

I use pro-pack only poses by mnagao-- or however it's spelled:)-- all the time. I get one or two "This is a newere version than expected" warnings and then it works just fine. They are my favorite poses. You do need P3Do with the plugin rsr to png to be able to see what the pose looks like. But that's really the only downside and P3Do is free.:)Same with As Shanim's Dynapose. Also killer poses. Emily

Yep, poses by Mnagao...they do look killer. Then I'm convinced! :) Thanx bunches! :)

But what I don't understand is why people that makes poses doesn't take the extra time to just create the rsr's. I mean...the purpose of making things for others, be it free stuff or for sale, would be to make them usefull for as many people as possible with as little work as possible. Personally I always include the rsr's (well not the first few items I made, those were before I knew how to make the rsr's G) and they take only a few seconds to create with P3DO explorer. OK people would still get the "newer version" on my stuff, becourse I'm not quite sure what to change in the pp2, but at least they'll have a picture of the item :o)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.

If you're annoyed with the "newer version" warning, just open the pp2 file in a text editor and change the version number to the one that applies to you. The version number is the first info you see in the text file. Here is an example of the beginning of a pp2 file, you clearly see the verison number: { version { number 4.01 } thighLength 0.177885 actor hip:5 { channels { rotateY yrot

But what if they're pzz files? Compressed pz2 files made by propack? Open them with WinZip and uncompress them, saving as pz2.
