Has anyone managed to decipher Bryce job and .OBP files yet (.BR3, .BR4, .BR5, .OBP, etc)? That is, to work out what each bit and byte of the file means.

Not me. And I doubt if anyone besides the people at corel has.

The meanings of most lines and words and numbers in .PZ3 files are self-evident, as it is in ascii text. .BR4 /.OBP / etc format looks as if it is in binary and then encrypted.

or worst - compressed and encrypted.

Encrypting is mean, and in this case, self-defeating. Bryce is predominantly a hobbyists' program, and hobbyists are the sort of people who might improve a program by creating extra utilities. I was planning such a thing myself if I could find the format. The more support a program has from the community, the stronger it becomes.

Somewhere among the binary code in Bryce must be the code which decodes an .OBP / whatever file that it reads.

Yarp - who did the great "Poser Explorer" wanted to do a similar utility for Bryce. I understand he tried to contact Corel several times to get info on file formats, and they never contacted him back at all. I guess they are very into "proprietary". It's a shame because Bryce could really use a utility like that which would enable you to do reference sheets of all your goodies.
