I was wondering if you were going to do hell. Very nice. The magma effects are great.

This is totally brill stuff Judith, what a great combination of textures and modelling...excellent.

chrisjol ( ) posted Thu, 22 August 2002 at 5:29 PM

Thanks for the kind words, Guys 'n'Gals. This is the other end of the eternal staircase. Judith drops tthe textures down to me, but its not so easy for me to get the models up to her. :o)

Well, with Heaven and Hell must come Purgatory... :-)

pendarian ( ) posted Thu, 22 August 2002 at 9:46 PM

Oh...Purgatory...now there is an idea!! Wonderful, awesome work you two!!! Sparked my imagination the second I saw it :) This is one "hot" scene LOL!! Pendy

mabfairyqueen ( ) posted Fri, 23 August 2002 at 3:45 AM

This looks really cool, er, I mean Hot!

judith ( ) posted Fri, 23 August 2002 at 1:15 PM

Hmmmmmm Purgatory! Now that sounds interesting, we'll keep that in mind. Hehe, considering how I don't care for hot hot weather, I don't think I'd be very comfortable there. OTOH I like the colors! Yeah, yeah Pendy, like a moth drawn to a flame! LOL!

LOL!! In this case, the moth would definately get singed wings :)

chrisjol ( ) posted Fri, 23 August 2002 at 2:34 PM

Anyone know what Purgatory looks like? I missed it out on the tour.

Morris ( ) posted Fri, 23 August 2002 at 3:12 PM

WOW! Simply Awesome! I love all your work you know ;-)

ChromeTiger ( ) posted Fri, 23 August 2002 at 4:09 PM

Unfortunately I don't remember my Dante, but Purgatory is 'middle ground'...if your soul isn't quite 'good' enough for Heaven, but not quite 'evil' enough for Hell, then you end up in Purgatory, where you are tested, retested, and tasked until your balance is determined, and you are sent on your way. Sometimes, this means another go-round through the Earth-Realm...

judith ( ) posted Fri, 23 August 2002 at 5:32 PM

Awww Jeni, thank you! I'm a big fan of yours also! ChromeTiger, I think I'd better do some research :))

Here's some help, if ya need it: http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/12575a.htm http://www.catholic.com/library/Purgatory.asp http://net2.netacc.net/~mafg/screen07.htm http://www.cin.org/users/james/files/how2purg.htm Plenty of website resources out there. I also recommend any of the Incarnations of Immortality books, and of course Dante's Trilogy (Paradisio, Purgatorio, Inferno). They're not nearly as 'informational' as the religious sites, but they're far more fun to read... :)

ChromeTiger ( ) posted Fri, 23 August 2002 at 6:57 PM

BTW, the Incarnations of Immortality are written by Piers Anthony. First book of the series is 'On A Pale Horse', and looks at the 'job' of Death. Very entertaining twist on things...

judith ( ) posted Fri, 23 August 2002 at 7:00 PM

I'm just starting to become acquainted with Piers' work and am loving it! Thanks for the links!
