BTW there are mesh reducer. I found one but this little thingy costs nearly 5,000 USD and can only import/export 3ds and dxf but no objs which I like best. There is also a free plugin for maya - but I have no NT or XP PC to use maya. Bernie

I will have to check tonight when Ileave work, I thought you can already to that by double clicking on an objct in Vue - it brings up a menu where you can change the 'resolution' of your mesh. Or maybe I am confused by memories of the distant time where I was using Bryce :)
That's a very important point (reduce size, not reduce quality) and also very difficult. Depend of the shape of the object, but also if it have material with reflection/refraction . Not easy to reduce only some parts of an object. All the very good modelers (but not cheap) have such tools. Amorphium 1.0 (free) can reduce the size of a mesh but not some parts only ;=) Yves

"ProgMesh is a 3D polygon mesh simplification program which enables you to reduce the number of polygons in your objects without a visible loss of quality. Given that ProgMesh supports the 3DS (3D Studio) file format, all object properties such as material and texture are maintained at all detail levels. You can also use it to fix badly modeled objects, removing duplicate, degenerate, and invalid faces." Perhaps this is what you are looking for? Hi, don't you think it would be nice to have a free progy that reduces the number of polygons in modells before import to Vue but this of course without reducing the modell's quality? Does anybody know such an application which should be for free? If so please add it to the freeware annex, because my vue thingy sometimes crashes when the imported objs are very big. Possibly with such a progy we could save uploading time etc. ;-) Bernie
