Subject: Seeking betatesters for freestuff thingy

I'm looking for a few betatesters to try to break a new thingy I'll be putting in freestuff soon. You need: a poser model with lots of morphs and Microsoft Excel and some time The thing: an excel macro to randomly generate numbers between -2 and +2, weighted towards 0 (with a somewhat adjustable bellcurve) What's it for: Select the body or morph heavy bodypart. Copy. Open the excel file and paste. Put the cursor in the correct cell and push the button. Play with the interface, and it then inserts poser friendly numbers into the values. Now copy, go back to poser and paste back onto your body part. Instant faces, body shapes, etc. Very, very cool with Mike2, Vik2, and Roxanne. Save the faces as a face file and the bodies as poses with morphchannel info. (now if you have Tailored items with name-matching morphs, all you do to match clothes is shape the clothing with the matching bodypose) It does throw a fair amount of "eeek" faces and such, but deleting some dials and using higher or lower steepness on the curve helps. Also, by the dials you leave out (and keep set to 1 in poser), you can guide the process - say you want all elves or all heavy or whatnot. I didn't write this thing - I had the idea and waved it at a bored programmer :) Now I don't have a huge amount of time to test this thing. So I'd like a few people to volunteer to try to break it. I'll contact you for your email if your a lucky tester :) Lyrra "What happens if I do this?" Madril

Sounds fun. If you still need someone, I can help.

I'd love to test for you! I'm a programmer between contracts, and I've done a lot of testing in the past (although I've just started Poser figure testing for someone). It does sound like a lot of fun!

I'd love to help but I'm without Excel at the moment, sounds great tho. Might be worth seeing if XP will let me install Excel 97. Rob

Ok - everybody should have the file at this point. Ascii has suggested something that I'm expanding on (or well hoping my programmer dude can do) Have an "export to face" and "export to pose" button (with macros set to grab the selected data and save as a txt file with the correct syntax and suffix for poser. Seems like it would work - but I'm waiting to hear back from my programmer. Some of you may have noticed that when you paste in a new set of dials you get extra columns between the name and the 0.0 value. I deleted them from mine, as I had trouble copying the new numbers back in. Having fun? Lyrra
