I'm really shocked at the nastiness of some people in the Writers Forum. I've taken a big interest in this forum since I am a writer and artist. I've tried very hard to keep my comments brief, and use Constructive Criticism. The responses I've received from Hammer2002 are very abusive, full of threats, name calling and swearing. Those responses occurred in the forum, Instant Messaging and in email. Maybe I don't really understand the purpose of these forums? Maybe people just want to come in here and post something, and demand either tribute or silence? It seems to me the moderator would be quick to squash this kind of abusive behavior immediately. There can be no rationalization for this behavior. Here is an example of this guy's behavior. Remember I posted only two very careful posts. Each one immediately received this kind of response: "I am getting sick of Crisjon's harrassment with his self-martyring and painted interest in helping me and would like him to leave me alone. I gave him a firm warning with the IM and yes it was harsh (I'm sure the weasel with whine to you about it), but the jerk doesn't get the hint to lay off. Bottomline, he's an idiot with no talent. I have no respect from him and he's making you (Crescent), Chuck, and Ram look as if you were candy-coating things."

gee......I wonder if it could be as a direct result of yor OTHER name Ronknights??? but then again..it could be as a direct result of your OTHER OTHER name...posafool........but then again......... and of course WE ALL KNOW...that none of your aliases would EVER cause such behaviour or responses from people dont we ron :)

hmatienzo ( ) posted Mon, 26 August 2002 at 9:26 AM

Rose, with all due respect... that still does NOT excuse posts like that. Namecalling is against TOS here, still, whether it's directed at me or you or Ron, right? I hope this gets sorted out real fast... the rules should apply to everybody equally.

Just because the mods do not publically announce their actions does not mean that nothing has been done. I will also say that if a member insults another member, they should not be surprised if that other member gets angry and takes action. I will not dredge up the history behind this post. I will not comment on the validity of the response. I am asking politely that this matter be dropped. It should not have been publically posted. Thank you.

deestilo ( ) posted Mon, 26 August 2002 at 9:28 PM

woohoo....... sounds like the very same suspect was asked to : ATTENTION C******0: DO NOT ANSWER THIS THREAD. THIS MEANS NO WITTY RETORTS, COME-BACKS, or PITY POT ME SPIELS! hmm......... I hope the mods won't let the replies against this post locked down because this is a potential proof, of a show of force that mods are actually protecting a certain individual at any cost without looking any further or looking anything at all. and as ussual, they wil get me a warning and make sure I can't asnwer back. dees "Love the freedom of speech here"

Crescent ( ) posted Mon, 26 August 2002 at 9:52 PM

Don't make assumptions - you know what they can do. deestilo, here's your warning: I've got a custard pie in my hand and I'm not afraid to use it!

Oh, sorry, you called WOLF, not wulf. never mind. I do answer to either, though.

Stormrage ( ) posted Mon, 26 August 2002 at 11:05 PM

not going to get into the obvious problems here, but just commenting on the situation as I see it.. Sorry crisjon, you started the whole issue. In your first comment to the thread. Maybe he shouldn't have attacked you but you did start attacking him first. As for this thread. Tempers really need to be calmed here.

Im4Angels ( ) posted Tue, 27 August 2002 at 12:40 AM

Hey, way cool!!!! Thanx Cooler!!! Does your bag of antiques by any chance know the whereabouts of a copy of the drivers for Hitachi 2x & 4x SCSI CD drives???? I have a cd tower sitting here with 7 drives and no drivers. --Im4Angels (Keeper of ancient systems)

cooler ( ) posted Tue, 27 August 2002 at 2:48 AM

I did a quickie google search using "Hitachi 2X 4X SCSI CD drivers" & still got over 3,200 hits... I'd be willing to bet that if you added the model number to those search parameters it would cut down on the hits enough to make it practical to check out a few of the archives that came up.

Im4Angels ( ) posted Tue, 27 August 2002 at 2:54 AM

Cool, I had tried DogPile and the manufacturer with no luck. Of all the hits I had gotten with Dogpile, none had panned out. Thanx, I'll google a shot

Away, Lightning!" ......Away! ......Forward! ......Mush! ...........ummmmmmm does anyone know how to hotwire a mule?

Im4Angels ( ) posted Tue, 27 August 2002 at 11:12 AM

Outstanding!!!! Thanx KingKyle!! Now about that mule, Hook one end of the jumper cables to a 24v marine battery, then touch one jumper cable to its genitals and the other to its tail. If that don't jumpstart it then try CPR.

Hey I just found some very interesting quotes, let me share some of them!! It is better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt. - Mark Twain Nothing in the world is more dangerous than a sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity. - Martin Luther King, Jr. It's great to be with Bill Buckley because you don't have to think. He takes a position and you automatically take the opposite and you know you are right. - J.K.Galbraith ----------------------------------------------------------- And some by Unknowns... It's all right to be ignorant, but it's stupid to make a career out of it. It's a lot easier to form an opinion when you have only a few of the facts. It's remarkable how large a part ignorance plays in making a man satisfied with himself. Wisdom eventually comes to all of us. Someday it might even be your turn. ----------------------------------------------------------- Know of any others?? Be kind and share them, I am sure we can all use a good laugh and distraction in this thread!! Jack

Sacred Rose ( ) posted Tue, 27 August 2002 at 5:42 PM

ROTFL Jack!!! You mean one day it maybe be our turn? ;)

Jack D. Kammerer ( ) posted Tue, 27 August 2002 at 5:48 PM

=o) Yep!! Maybe one day I will be wise and avoid certain threads written by certain people... but I was always victim to rubber-necking!! Jack

Welp, Thanx Cooler!! Finally tracked down a driver through Google. Course I never had quite the quantity of hits you got. LOL, most were selling the drives and had the same link to a page on the Hitachi site that's been deleted. Just a piece of info for everyone. http://www.driverguide.com has a lot of drivers available. All the ones for the Hitachi comapny were deadlinks but if you run a search from the ones uploaded by members, you might find ones that are no longer listed by the companies that manufactured the device.

Im4Angels ( ) posted Tue, 27 August 2002 at 10:47 PM

Here's another for the list "If ignorance is bliss, you must be ecstatic"

Sacred Rose ( ) posted Wed, 28 August 2002 at 1:44 AM

LOL

Jack D. Kammerer ( ) posted Wed, 28 August 2002 at 2:23 AM

::chuckles:: I am actually jumping up and down in my seat... perhaps that may be because I am ignorant in some things... or because it is no longer knight time here!! Jack Seriously beginning to love PUNS!!

DragonWalk ( ) posted Wed, 28 August 2002 at 7:29 AM

You folks are incredibly funny....some of these quotes are excellent....you know what I think is also AWSOME??? One see's a thread like this...a title as it has...expecting the worst...wondering if you really should even bother looking....yet when you start reading it....and when you get done...instead of being something that perhaps may have given you a real bad feeling or left a negative taste somehow...it does the exact opposite because one can just feel the "friendships" flowing here...which is GREAT...especially so....because one expects the worst and gets the total opposite feeling...;-) Cheers!

Im4Angels ( ) posted Wed, 28 August 2002 at 11:06 AM

NP DragonWalk, Insanity is alive and well at 'osity. Here's one the wife received in a bumpersticker e-mail last night: "Some people are so stupid you wonder how they've stayed alive. ...It's because it's illegal to kill them." And one of my own, "Ignorant People.....gotta love 'em. Homocide's illegal."

DragonWalk ( ) posted Wed, 28 August 2002 at 5:14 PM

Hehehehe....;-)
