This forum is such a great place for Poser information, maybe you can help. What program or programs are needed to create a Poser character from scratch? Need to be able to have complete Poser abilities. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Bob

here you go with my suggestions :) a good modelling program, here's a short list: 3ds Max Lightwave maya rhino anim8tor Amapi nendo wings3d have I missed any? a good paint program Photoshop paintshop pro painter deeppaint 3d probably missed a few. after you've modelled your figure: UVMapper/pro phi builder cr2edit/cr2 editor morph manager morph master extreme morph 3d There's loads more I've probably forgotten but that should give you a head start :) also cram in as many tutorials as you can find on modelling, here at rosity & runtime dna are good places to start, don't forget poser pros & simply loads more sites out there that I can't remember right now. You may find these links to these free or low priced 3D modeling programs helpful:-- Anim8or

I model in Truespace which may be within your budget. You may like to visit my site to see what that program can produce.

Thanks for the thoughts. I'm a senior citizen and having a ball with this 3D stuff. Bob

Way to go Bob smilie.gif

You've probably got a few years on me, but I'm catching up fast. If you need help just holla, thats all I did. So if an ex-plumber can do this then there is hope for everyone!

I was gonna suggest truespace (4.3 cuz it's cheap and all you need.)+ the free LUUV plugin, for importing/exporting .obj files with proper UV mapping.

Blender is an excellent modeling program, along with lots of other things, and it's FREE!

LN books have been written about PhilC & his shady past as a plumber ;) ok so it was a mention in Rick Schrand's book but it's a start. Rob

HAY! Back off the Plumbers! @ least they know how joints are supposed to fit. And believe me you, Phil knows how to fix bad joints. :)
