Hi all, I just went to the webpage of Softline, a German reseller of Poser 5 and found the following statement on their website: "Die Macintoshversion erscheint voraussichtlich im IV. Quartal 2002." In english: "The Mac version will be released approximately Q2 2002." I don't know if this is true, but it gives some for us Mac users. Poser 5 for christmas? Yes please, Santa. Lemme have one, pleaseee!!!! Phil

Sorry! It should say Q4 (!) 2002. Looks like I'm a little bit too jazzed. ;o) Cheers, Phil

Dont belive that softline knows any details or release date.Called them today and asked about a release date for poser 5 ( windows) and the answer was" somewhere in september" no more precise date.

CL's official release date is "sometime before september 15". That's about as vague.

Anyone got any idea of the spec needed to run it 'well' on a Mac?

terminusnord ( ) posted Thu, 29 August 2002 at 4:47 PM

the Sept 15 date is referring to the Windows version only. CL has never given even the slightest indication of when P5 Mac will be ready, nor have they even said when they might say. The website has said "Details on the Mac version coming soon" ever since they put up a P5 page. They ostensibly have a different idea of what 'soon' means than I do. -Adam

Kupa told me in an IM that the plans were to make it capable of running under 9.x, although he didn't indicate the RAM requirements. I would guess they're going to be similar to the Windoze needs.

Apple have told CL as much about this code issue thingie as theyve told anyone about the 7470 chip. No-one knows until the announcement and any Apple employee looking like spilling the beans is buried in soft peat for six months. By coincidence the release date of the Windows version is around the time of two events being the Seybold Seminar and the Paris Expo.
