Subject: Monthly Challenge Deadline At Midnight 31st.

Monthly Challenge Deadline At Midnight 31st. Please have any final entries in before this. I will strive to have the voting webpage up on September 1st. Voting will last for 3 days, the winners announced and the next theme decided on for Septembers Challenge. Thanks and best of luck to everyone! Footnote Question...Although at this time I am in Illinois for a few weeks, I live in California...Now if I say "deadline is at midnight" I am thinking "midnight-California time" (usually). Here's the question...how can I make sure that anyone in the world has their own "midnight" so they could make any last minute entries? And, what time California time would that be, that the last "midnight" for that particular day be? Does this make any sense to anyone? Does anyone know the answer? I mean if I knew that the last place to have a "midnight, august 31st" was actually say, 5 hours behind California, I could just make any deadline on any day at 5am California time. Then I wouldn't have to wonder if my midnight is earlier than someone elses midnight.... Lol...thanks for any help AgentSmith

Don't work too hard. Midnight calif on the 31st is way more precise than any of your predicessors. Thanks for all your hard work and enthusiasm.

You could always use Renderosity time, the time in the upper right hand corner of this sight. I think its the same for everyone. Central Standard Time. Just a thought.

If deadline is 24h00 gmt-12 on august 31st, everybody will have their "own midnight". But anyway gregsin is right, the easiest way is to use renderosity time.

Gregskin has the most sensible answer - there can be no arguments when there is a clock on the screen.Good luck to everyone, I'd guess there was over 35 entries this month.

Yeah the best way is use Renderosity time. If you want it to be Midnight California time then just set it as 2 AM Sep 1 Renderosity time. That way people can just log on and see how much time they have left.

I pushed my entry last month right up to the deadline. There are those of us who will always be "temporally challenged". This month I decided my entry didn't have to be perfect and finished a week ago. Some of us are asleep or at lunch during work or school when the deadline rolls around where we live. It may seem inconvenient not to have those last two hours on the last day to finish, but we had the whole month to work on it. It's either going to be done or not. AgentSmith is the one who has to pull in all the entries, Change the names when all of us call the picture "Abyss" or whatever, set up the webpage, and start the voting. He would be able to start in california at midnight if it was pacific time (GMT-8) 10pm if it was renderosity time (GMT-6) or 4pm if it was grenwich mean time (GMT=0). Everyone else has had a whole month of times when it was convenient to work on their project. I think it's totally his choice. I stay up till about 1am where I am. I could probably knock it out in an hour or two and not have to loose sleep. If it really became a big deal I could opt for GMT and hit it after getting home and dinner. If I were in the same position I'd choose Renderosity Time. Everyone can see the clock. And just so no one is confused,It's a 24 hour clock. 23:50 means ten minutes to midnight. better finish posting. ;)

Renderosity time, to avoid any confusion. Although most of us have to convert to it, it seems to be the standard that members I've talked to use. As much as I'd like 'California' time Renderosity seems to make more sense to me.
