I am no expert either....but crosstalk is when you have two objects in a scene that have similar group names, and as such, when modifications are applied to one object the same modification appear on the second object. For example if you have one Mike character who you made short and fat, and then put in a second mike character, he too would take on those short and fat attributes.
Load a Posette, select the BODY element, set the SuperHero dial to 1.000. Now load another Posette and try to change the SuperHero dial in her BODY element, the dial will turn but nothing happens, the SuperHero FBM (full body morph) is locked. That's an example of crosstalk.
Crosstalk is something that happens between ERC (enhanced remote control) channels. FBM's (full body morphs) and PBM's (partial body morphs) are instances of ERC. ERC is not only used with morph channels, it can be used to control joint channels as well.
ERC works on the principle of having a master channel and slave channels. Code is added to the slave channels which tells them to import their values from the master channel. Crosstalk happens when the slave channels read their values from a master channel with the same master channel name, but in the wrong figure.
The correct use of a NULL figure can prevent crosstalk. A NULL figure that works for the Millennium and the P4 figures is available from:
http://www.rbtwhiz.com/rbtwhiz_ERC.html
This site also contains a lot of information on ERC.
There are also some workarounds like channel renaming, that are useful in some situations.
Basically yes that's true, actually sometimes it seems to take some event happening to the other (crosstalkedt) figure to trigger an update, just clicking anywhere on the figure is enough to do it, so will changing the camera angle or the lights.
The actual dial in the crosstalked figure won't change, but the channel will behave as if it has.
As to why this bug happens, the actual mechanism, I don't know, I only know that it does.

Can anyone tell me what is crosstalk.
