Subject: PBooost 1.3 with DFE

I'm slowly working my way through my folders correcting the texture references, damn there's loads. This is going to take me hours or even days to finish. I'm so glad I finally gave in & bought PBoost, it's all Ron Knights' fault, he was so convincing with his praise of what is rapidly turning into one of the best poser addons I've bought so far. Anyone with a large runtime folder, really needs to buy PBooost ASAP. Thanks loads & loads Howard & Ron :) Rob

I dont know. I have WIn2000, but I know it supposed to work with the OS. I dont know what is the problem.

The latest version of Pboost is supposed to have dealt with the problems of file protection on Win2k, and Win2k and FAT 32 for us dual booters (I can only say 'supposed' because I haven't installed the latest version and played with it). Probably going to wait until I get P5 and see how well the new nesting works, but considering all the fricking content I have, I suspect that Pboost will find a new home...at least once Hogwarden has verified it works with the new Poser.

Ditto Dale's comments. Have 1.3, but waiting to install until I have P5 to see how it all works together. Plus, I'm hoping others will have paved the way, and new tips/tutorials will be available by then to advise how to optimize PBoost and P5 functionality.

PBooost works perfectly for me on XP, I'm still working on correcting those darn texture errors tho, just realised I have to do the poses as well, I need a drink :( Rob

PBooost does fix the locked folders problem but it's a lot of slow hard work checking every figure & mat pose to correct the errors, also anyone who's bought the Dragon from Daz today will need to run it through the DFE. Rob

As far as I know, PBoost 1.3 doesn't deal with Fat 32 only NFTS-- if those letters are in the correct order. Which is what my drive is formatted in. I haven't transferred it over yet, but even when it didn't work fully, it was a godsend in ordering the files so I knew where they are. Emily

no actually I'm wrong the problem is still there, just that PBooost sorts out the files that aggravate it. According to howards site, when a character, Mat poseor prop forces poser to search for textures, poser locks the folders while it's looking, but a bug in poser causes poser to keep the folders locked even after finishing it's search. What the new PBooost does is fix the texture references in the files so that poser doesn't have to search for textures, which means the problem doesn't often rear ugly head to bother us. Rob
