Daz says this model will tax machine ressources (60000 Poly) So what is the "smallest" or "weakest" config. required ? isn't it a problem with the textures' res. ? and what about P5/P4 and used O.S., as far as high res. figures are concerned ? Best regards Khorne

have you had any problems playing with 2 vickis (or 2 of vicki, michael, or steph) in one scene? cos they are about 35k poly each, so if you've been able to handle two of those, you can handle one daz dragon... hope i got that right :)

Also, keep in mind that those textures are extremely high-resolution; a good-sized texture, bump, and transmap can make mincemeat of a lesser system. I'm not even going to think about using them as-is until I upgrade my machine next month. I might try scaling them down, however, just to see how they look.

That's the third-largest character mesh (7.7MB) I've seen to date. George Deep's T-Rex (13.8MB) and one of Questor's Terminators (15.5MB) are still the top two. By comparison, Michael and Vicky are 3.44MB and 3.0MB, respectively.

I had a huge texture map for one of my vicki figures, so I just resized it 50% down in photoshop and then it did not choke up on me, when I added clothing.. sounds like an idea for the dragon maps if needed.. The loss of quality was not THAT noticeable for full body views.. might be if it was a face portrait.. Lyne

I did the same for the DAZ trenchcoats. I wasn't close enough to see the weave, anyway.

I was impressed that my system didn't have major problems with it. A little slow, but no worse than any project file. And the PZ3 I saved was surprizingly small, only 13 Megs.

I've got a 400 with 128 MB - my system is happily choking away ;) But for $20 you can't go wrong.

The CR2 filesize for the full version isn't as bad as I'd thought; only 11.7MB. That's even smaller than Victoria 2 Reduced Resolution. They must have saved a lot of deltas by building the jaw and tongue as separate poseable body parts, rather than moving them around with morphs. I agree about the price. I would likely have bought her at some point anyway, but $40 off? My credit card appeared before me as if by reflex. Any people who don't get this now and then decide later that they need it will take turns kicking themselves as they pay almost triple the sale price. Speaking of which, what do you think will become of the original DAZ/Zygote dragon, now that Millicent is here? I doubt it'll be retired, but it currently has the same regular non-sale price as the more advanced figure. Does anyone think it'll be marked down soon?

You'd think I was buying the last pine tree on Christmas Eve the way I hit the checkout with this new toy. ^_~ I've been wondering about the older dragon, too. It looks like it was just recently marked down, but surely they're not going to keep them the same price.
