Think its the release in america, shipping to europe and different resellers may take some time.

SAMS3D ( ) posted Tue, 03 September 2002 at 11:55 AM

Okay, so it is going to be released in the US on the 15th? right, I mean that is what they say, before the 15th actually.....I am biting my nails even as I type and counting the days. Sharen

phoenixamon ( ) posted Tue, 03 September 2002 at 11:59 AM

They say it will ship on or before the 15th. The 15th is a Sunday, so we can count on it being before. ;)

Dizzie ( ) posted Tue, 03 September 2002 at 12:02 PM

LOLOLOL Sharen...I want tons of sample renderings as soon as you get it...some of us are waiting on what you 1st guys find before we buy...:>0

I ordered the upgrade & got an estimated date of 6/9 but the official line seems to be 15/9 at the latest...I'm in the UK by the way ;O)

toashzadel ( ) posted Tue, 03 September 2002 at 2:35 PM

James, I have not seen Poser in any stores, but I did buy version 4 from dabs.com, they are a local company for local people ;o)

saxon ( ) posted Tue, 03 September 2002 at 4:15 PM

Rumours, this whole bloody thing's been run on rumours...

Cheers ( ) posted Tue, 03 September 2002 at 4:20 PM

Well personally I hope the release date is delayed, while CL consider the authorisation fiasco ;o) Living in the UK, I'm not opening my wallet until I get some info on what type of support I'm going to get as a foreign customer. I don't fancy the possibilty of having to phone the US (or any other international calling charge) when I have an installation/authorisation issue! I would imagine that the CD's are already pressed, if the release date is so close...so I imagine the promised explanation of the new licensing within P5, from CL will not happen, and they will keep tight lipped (come on, take the bait CL, say something...pretty please) ;o) Cheers

Fiasco, that's the word I've been looking for to describe the way this whole thing's been handled. Release date? Is it close? Nobody seems to know, least of all Curious... I really hope Egisys impart some German efficiency soon...

wdupre ( ) posted Tue, 03 September 2002 at 4:48 PM

CL said that P5 is due to be released by the 15th and that is as solid a release date as I have ever seen from a software company. seriously I can't understand the grumbling, as for the autorization system it was spelled out quite clearly by anthony from CL a few days ago.

Cheers ( ) posted Tue, 03 September 2002 at 5:01 PM

wdupre said: "as for the autorization system it was spelled out quite clearly by anthony from CL a few days ago." Hmmmmm, Anthony definitely did not give any info concerning the support that will be given to international customers. As far as I know, Anthony just mentioned a 90 second phone call to support if there where any problems...a big slab of cash if you happen to live outside the US or Germany (looking at the Egisys links, while mentioning Germany)! Cheers

I'll go out on a limb (better be a real stout one!) and venture a guess that kupa's gonna release it on September 17th - which is a Tuesday in my book! September 10th would fall before the 15th quite naturally, too. -scara

MaxxArcher ( ) posted Tue, 03 September 2002 at 7:42 PM

I pre-ordered my P5 today and the order confirmation said to expect delivery on Saturday the 7th. In live in the Netherlands. Dang, dang, dang, Im visting relatives on Saturday.

Dragonlady ( ) posted Tue, 03 September 2002 at 9:54 PM

well I dont think the estimated delivery date is much to believe in I preordered my copy and got extimated delivery date August 28????

CyberStretch ( ) posted Tue, 03 September 2002 at 10:03 PM

I would imagine the "estimated delivery date" is based off a script that runs for normal item delivery and it was probably not adjusted for pre-order items.

Orio ( ) posted Wed, 04 September 2002 at 8:17 AM

I prefer a few days delay and all (or most) bugs fixed, than timely shipping and subsequent bugfix patches. My opinion, Orio.
