I'm new here and I might sound like an idiot, but some people have HELLA good looking pictures... Stuff that my amature mind would never really think of EVER... so I was wondering where do you guyz learn these super techniques... cause all I have been doing is reading the online tutorials and stuff and I'm not really getting any farther... so can you guyz like give me any advice or something that I can work on to make better pieces of art

I don't pretend to be up there with the best, but I learned Bryce by messing about with it in my spare time. I'm not one for manuals or tutorials unless I'm totally stuck, 'cos it's only by experimenting that you'll learn and get your own style. Bryce is a great program. I've been using it about 9 months now and there're still things I'm finding out. The one thing I find invaluable in Bryce is the spot render function using the airbrush. I use it literally thousands of time on every pic, and it's prefect for quick checks of textures, positions, colours, shadows, etc. I can't imagine working without it.

LVS offers courses on Bryce and a whole lot of other stuff. On-line courses last 6 weeks and cost $20. I have taken the Bryce beginner class, and have just started the Bryce II class. Excellent learning experience!

Problem solve! Aim high and figure out at least how to get there even if you can't quite do it yet. Blaze your own trail of creativity and exploration!

Try, try and try again. I've been using bryce for 4 years now (or even more maybe) and I still try new things. If you practise enough you can find out almost everything that is possible with bryce. It also helps to study a bit on lighting or texturing techniques in general. If you know some rules of thumb on how to create a certain feel in your image it can really boost the look of the image. Also: when you make complex scenes have patience. Rendering can take days.

There are no hard and fast rules just keep practicing and also look at photography and old masters for composition purposes. THis aspect is what a lot of brycers let their selves down on. Bryce is only a tool as is the paint brush, the pen and metasequioa
